The staff is the Best!! We stayed in the adjacent building (not made aware of this in booking) and the steep hill we had to walk everytime we went to our rooms was grueling. Not sure, other than making that known at time of booking, what can be improved upon here, yet.. sigh. Lovely vintage setting!

Sehr schönes Hotel mit liebevoll und hochwertig eingerichteten Zimmern. Punktabzug gibt es für: 1. man muss beim Frühstück extra zahlen, wenn man eine „Kaffeespezialität“ wie einen Cappuccino bestellen möchte. 2. unter unserem Tisch im Zimmer lag noch Dreck vom vorherigen Gast. 3. am Abend wurden wir an der (nicht sehr vollen) Bar nicht proaktiv bedient, sondern sind nach einigen Minuten an die Bar zum bestellen gegangen. Alles eigentlich Kleinigkeiten, dennoch trübt das das sonst sehr gute Ambiente.

Fabulous stay, wonderful room, very helpful staff and enjoyed our first stay. The only down side was no air con and only a fan to assist with the high heat. Will definitely be staying again.

The hotel looks amazing so much character.

We stayed for week in a Garden Room during a visit to Cornwall with my wife during a heat-wave. The room was large and airy with two bathrooms. The staff had put a large fan in the room and it was running when we went in and it kept the room at a comfortable temperature during the stay. We had breakfast every morning included. The service was quick and efficient with helpful, friendly and polite staff, the food and choice were excellent. There was plenty of parking at the hotel and the bar was great with a cool outside seating area. There was complimentary Wi-Fi in the room and it was acceptable, albeit a bit slow. This was the only slight negative about the accommodation and I am being particularly picky as otherwise the experience was fantastic. The hotel and surroundings were lovely and we were very glad we picked this hotel for what was a fantastic stay in Cornwall.

Parkering

We enjoyed our stay, though it was a long way to our room to carry our luggage.

Very accommodating staff, initial room was very nice but extremely warm (due to the heatwave). Reception was very accommodating and kindly upgraded us to a cooler room! Breakfast service was a bit slow. Overall ambience of the hotel was very beautiful.

We found it a great place to stay when going to a show at Hall For Cornwall. Lovely old hotel in nice grounds. Very nice breakfast.

I have been to the Alverton several times but this was the first time we stayed here. It was a lovely sunny afternoon/evening and we had cocktails on the patio overlooking the lovely gardens. We had a standard room inside the hotel and it looks much better in situ than the website photos - a very comfortable stay. We were very pleasantly surprised to be welcomed with a bottle of frizzante on arrival.

The grounds were very well kept and the Great hall was impressive, as for the room, the room was clean and roomy and had a great view.

Fabulous hotel in Truro. Staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The one thing to note that’s missing in their rooms is a mini frig. Otherwise it’s a stunning hotel.

Good hotel to stay. Although its an old building and an effort has been to preserve its ambience but its a bit shabby and could do with some more maintenance. Limited breakfast. But rooms were very clean and comfortable, so a good place to stay at a reasonable price.

Great hotel ideally located to travel around Cornwall from. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

A thoroughly charming building with beautiful architecture sympathetically converted into a first class Hotel.

Comfortable room. Unique building. However, we specifically asked for a room not used by travellers with dogs, this was confirmed by the hotel yet when we got to our room there was a doggy pack (bowl, towel etc) waiting prominently on the floor. Makes their room confirmation meaningless.
