We travel to Guadalajara often, and whenever we do, we enjoy staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton Guadalajara Centro Histórico. We've always had positive experiences there, which is why we decided to book a balcony room for the first time during our most recent 4-night stay.
We were very excited about having a balcony, but when we arrived, we were assigned a corner room with a limited view. The room felt smaller than expected, and the drapes were partially falling down, which was disappointing. We asked if it would be possible to move to a different balcony room with a better view. The staff informed us that additional rooms would become available the following day.
The next day, we were offered a different room with a slightly better view, but there was an additional charge of 500 pesos per night. We decided to upgrade and moved to the new room. While the view was somewhat better, the room itself was about the same size, and in the end, we hardly used the balcony at all.
Looking back, the extra cost wasn't worth it for us. The experience felt very similar to staying in a standard room, and next time we'll likely book the regular room instead. That said, we still enjoy staying at this hotel because of its excellent location and our overall positive experiences there over the years.
