We chose The Cotswolds Hotel and Spa for our honeymoon. We were thrilled to be upgraded to a junior suite overlooking the golf course, thank you. Some reviews we read prior to our visit were very negative, but we cannot fault the cleanliness of the room and public areas, they were spotless. Yes, some of the furniture in the room is a little dated, but the public areas were fresh and modern. As we are having a very warm summer, many previous visitors had commented on the rooms not being air conditioned, so we took our own tower fan with us. However, there was a lovely big fan in the room that also helped. The staff were extremely friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble. My husband played the golf course twice and really enjoyed it. We hired a golf buggy for one of the rounds which was in excellent condition, it seemed to be brand new. Unfortunately the treatments were all booked up, so we cannot comment on these. We can highly recommend the pizzas, they were delicious. If you are having breakfast, the busy time mid week seemed to be between 8 and 8.30, it is much quieter either side of these times. The hotel is in a fantastic location for exploring the Cotswolds, we visited Bourton on the Water, Stow on The Wold, The Diddly Squat Farm Shop and Belnheim Palace (all within 30 minutes or less to the hotel). We would definitely stay here again if we were visiting the Cotswolds. Thanks to all the team for a lovely visit.

Great hotel and close to Clarkson's Farm and the Lazy Dog Pub.

Room was very clean , easy parking , glad there was a fan in the room as it was very hot the few days we were there ,overall would happy to stay there again

We stayed in a studio which was perfect as allowed us to cook our own meals. Hotel bar was a bit tired and they were having trouble with their lines so hubby couldn’t get a pint, friendly enough service but nothing out of the ordinary.

Really good sized room with a kitchenette, including a microwave, oven, and fridge. Would have liked air conditioning, but the fan was ok. The room was clean, and well situated looking out to the golf course. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. It was a nice touch having a birthday card with a voucher for a free drink in the room on arrival, as we were celebrating a birthday.

Great stay again. The rooms are spacious and we had the pleasure of a golf course view room. Rooms are nice and clean.

The rooms were spacious and clean, although not exceptional (some of the furniture was a little flimsy) and could benefit from AC. Obviously, there is a lot of building work being carried out nearby but not too intrusive. Reasonable value for money.

Great hotel, clean and friendly staff

I don’t write many reviews but felt the need to for this hotel. This hotel is not a spa, you can have treatments but there is no spa! The room was unbearably warm and a cheap noisy fan was all that we had and it didn’t do anything, the bathroom had a terrible damp smell and if the door was open that smell spread into the room, hardly had any sleep. The restaurant staff were unhelpful we were told we went to book a table and told we could have half 6 or nothing basically so we had to take pizza out, and in the morning we went for breakfast that we pre paid for, we were asked for our names and ticked off upon arrival but while we were getting our self service breakfast a lady came up requesting my room number like I wasn’t supposed to be there with all the other guests looking over.

Decent hotel but despite the name it doesn't have any spa facilities apart from therapy rooms, the name is very misleading

Room was clean and a perfect base for exploring. 1 tiny fan and no air conditioning as advertised! We had to go buy another large fan as was stifling even with both sets of patio doors open all night. Not the golf view promised but a building site. Would also help to advise customers you have longterm construction daily for 2 new blocks. Noise from deliveries of materials, lorries reversing, Externally the existing buildings need alot of care and repairs. Balconies falling to bits. Weeds growing 2ft tall in car park and by reception, overpowering the lavender. Golf course is tired and not well maintained, several rabbit holes by lake have wasp nests inside. No action taken. Staff whilst polite do not have english as a first language and struggle, even refusing to order us a taxi to go to and from Chipping Norton for dinner. As to how you qualify as a spa is beyond me, no pool, no sauna, no steam room, treatments have no timetable, other guests had theirs cancelled last minute. Lots of room to improve, listen to your paying customers and stop ignoring us for weddings and events.

Lovely clean room with a view. Staff were friendly and helped us with all our enquiries. Breakfast was amazing, would definitely stay here again.

All good no complaints

We were issued with a Studio room, on the first floor overlooking a small section of the golf course, The size of the room for the four of us (two adults, two teenagers) was more than adequate! We had a kitchenette with fridge/freezer, oven, hob and dishwasher. Also the room included a very large dining table and sufficient space for us to move around in, Overall the cleanliness and condition of utilities was excellent and well kept. On the negative side, the lack of air conditioning in the room was definitely noticeable, during our stay, Granted the weather was particularly hot that weekend (30 °C) and our west-facing room got really warm during the day. Luckily the large balcony was a nice retreat and the large doors helped to air the room out. The double bed for the parents, was perfectly fine and comfortable, but the double pull-out couch that our teens (12 & 15) needed to share was was a bit small, cramped and uncomfortable; would have been better to have two singles, Finally, there was indeed a lack of wardrobe space in the room, this could easily be improved upon, Otherwise, very happy with the hotel, the location with sufficient parking and the friendly staff. Would we stay here again? Definitely.
