Stephen (the host) was great! Very friendly and welcoming! The room was very cosy, clean, and well equipt. Unfortunately, due to busy work, I was unable to explore the grounds, but I imagine they were lovely. 100% would stay again if working in the area.

Immaculate and beautiful cottage (we stayed in Barley) with all home comforts. Access to a gorgeous swimming pool and gardens. The location in the hamlet of Water Newton is stunning and gorgeous walks through the countryside are abundant. This isn’t a conventional self catering arrangement because the owners live on site and the cottages have a share with permanent residents. This means that you can’t invite friends or family over in daytime or evening without advance express permission. This makes it tricky when plans change or the weather doesn’t behave the way you had hoped. But fully understanding this and how seriously it is taken in advance is helpful.

Thank you for a wonderful stay at Rivernene Cottages. Hosts Stephen and Phil were amazing and could not do enough for all the guests. We stayed in the Yew Tree Cottage, as a family of 4 (2 teenagers) this was perfect! The entire place is immaculately kept. The sweeping garden was a great place to chill out by the bank of the river as well as the delightful heated pool which was used many times during our stay! Cottages are very well equipped with everythjng you could need for a short or long stay. Cant wait to return next year. Claire, Paul, Jed and Thea

River Nene cottages ligger fantastisk til i et idyllisk landskap. Bygningnene er velholdt og autentiske og interiøret er veldig koselig og personlig, uten at man føler at man bor hjemme hos noen. Vår hytte var godt utstyrt. Innehaverne er meget trivelige og yter topp service. Stedet ligger i gangavstand fra småbyen Castor som har både kafé, et par puber og restaurant. Spaserturen på ca 25-30 minutter går gjennom et flott Engelsk landskap og er koselig både på dagtid og etter mørkets frambrudd. Vårt opphold var fantastisk og vi kommer mer enn gjerne tilbake.

Was greeted by Stephen, very friendly chap. A very grand entrance! The cottage was full of character and very comfortable. You can hear the road from the cottage but one you are inside you cannot hear it.

On arrival at our cottage, we were met by Stephen who was incredibly welcoming and informative. He made sure we had everything we needed, let us know where key local amenities were, including recommendations on pubs and takeaways. Our stay continued to be excellent, quiet and peaceful but with plenty to do. We have already been back again.

Stephen was welcoming and friendly, the cottage was beautiful. Everything was clean and tidy and looked after, location was peaceful and secure. Beds were comfy and living room area was plenty big enough. Local pizza company delivered our evening meal direct to the cottage door. Overall excellent stay, we will be recommending to family and friends and hope to day there again soon.

Just a one night stay but it was perfect for what we needed.
