Beautiful clean room and amazing staff. Everyone at Catalonia Magdelenes was super helpful and accommodating! Great location and near to many, many shops and restaurants. My daughter lives in, Spain (last 6+ years) and we are Europe every year to see her! :) I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Barcelona.

Location people excellent hotel

Excellent location very near the Palau de la Musica and the Barcelona cathedral that was all dressed up for the Pope’s June 2026 visit. The room felt modern and surprisingly spacious for its relatively small footprint. The rain showerhead was luxurious, the room was spotless, and it was very quiet despite being in the center of a great neighborhood. Adam, the bellhop, was extremely helpful with directions and tips! Trigo Cafe is a 2-min walk and has fantastic breakfasts if you don’t want to do the hotel’s buffet. We would definitely stay at another Catalonia property again!

The friendly staff was very helpful with suggesting restaurants and arranging taxis for us. Shout out to Adam and Alfonso. Clean, spacious, well-equipped rooms! Loved the bathrobes and slippers. Excellent shower with rain shower and wand options, both with good water pressure.

Walking distance to some great sites. Plenty of restaurants close by. Staff super helpful. Nice breakfast buffet.

Nice small rooftop bar and friendly staff

No desayunamos en el hotel, ni entramos al bar tampoco. Solo quedamos una noche para asistir a un concierto, por lo tanto quedamos poco rato en las dependencias del hotel. El personal fueron todos super amables y la habitación perfecta.

Friendly and attentive staff . Alex was phenomenal in assisting us with this information, bags, and restaurant reservations and directions. The pool staff was also engaging and made some very nice Sangria.

I would like to give the staff 6 stars ✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️✴️. David on the Front Desk saved me from having a breakdown, when I realised I had left my passport at the last hotel. He helped me organise retrieval of the documents. Naya was also wonderful in helping me arrange two day tours in Barcelona. Great staff. I am so grateful for their assistance.

What a gem! The staff was amazing especially our porter and front desk manager last night 5/24 he was SO helpful! Breakfast the pool the cava upon arrival amazing! Beds and rooms were laid out perfectly for multiple travelers (3) We would come again!!

Peres, Adam, Alfredo and Kevin were so nice and welcoming as were the other staff members. The location were perfect and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. The rooms were spotless and quiet. The room darkening shades were perfect. We did not have the buffet, but I’m sure it was excellent. The water pressure was very good and the toiletries were quite nice. I liked the sliding door separating the bedroom from the washroom area.

This property is amazing! The staff goes above and beyond to take care of all of your needs.

The staff was great, the room was good, but the room next to ours was being renovated. We could not hang out in our room I between touring and we were woken up to it a couple of mornings. The Hotel/staff should have offered us a free breakfast or a free few drinks at the rooftop bar. It should have been acknowledged.

Will definitely stay here again!

Das Frühstück ist vielseitig und schmackhaft; frisches Obst und Gemüse; Jogurt, Müsli und Nüsse...; nach Wunsch zubereitete Eiergerichte. Das Personal ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Das Zimmer groß, schön eingerichtet und sauber. Das Bett groß und bequem! Leider hat unser Zimmer stark nach Zigarettenrauch gerochen. Wir haben dort 4 Nächte verbracht und konnten die Geruchquelle nicht bestimmen.

Close to every thing and the staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay is perfect

Our family of 4 had a fabulous stay during our time in Barcelona. The staff stood out as having the best customer service we have experienced across any service industry in a long time. They were so helpful from the very beginning- storing our luggage prior to check in so we could begin exploring the city, sharing a map with us to highlight what to see and do in Barcelona, helping us book a bus tour, providing a great list of restaurants near by- they were just fantastic! Special shout outs to Simo, Silverio and Adam. The location was very convenient. The room was a great size and we especially appreciated a room that the four of us could fit in comfortably, as many hotels in Spain were not going to be large enough for us to fit in 1 room. Breakfast was a large, delicious spread. Overall, we were very impressed with this hotel and would choose a Catalonia property while traveling in the future after this experience.

My wife and I were extremely pleased with our recent stay at the Catalonia Magdalenes Hotel. Our room had a King size bed with a balcony and a view of the street below. The room was clean, and housekeeping did a great job of ensuring we had what we needed. The Hotel is centrally located within Barcelona's Gothic quarter. Public Transportation, shopping, dining, and sightseeing areas are all within walking distance. The staff, in particular Pere at the front desk, Alfredo the concierge, and Severino the bartender were extremely friendly and helpful. They all took the time to answer questions and point you in the direction you wanted go. Great customer service.
