The old time feel

As you drive up to the hotel in your Uber or Taxi the road in front of the hotel is totally torn up because of construction. Once in the hotel it’s a straight up climb to the front office and guest rooms. Very narrow steps on the stairs. Very tiny rooms. Possibly 20’ long by 8’ wide approximately? On the plus side there’s a bakery for the morning only a few doors down on one side and a pancake restaurant a few doors down on the other side. Additionally, it’s a few minutes walk to a very busy area of town. I won’t stay there again. Lot’s of other options for lodging. The resident house cat is fun and friendly. He’ll want to come into your room eventually a explore and check you out.

Stay was amazing, surprisingly really quiet inside the hotel. Nice central location and for a solo traveller that doesnt want a hostel this is amazing. Room was clean and tidy every day aswell. Stairs are steep but it’s Amsterdam, everywhere has steep stairs.

A bit of a culture shock for myself as most hotels in central Amsterdam are tall and steep. Rooms are tiny. Once acclimated this hotel definately met our needs. Clean, safe, fairly quiet, and great location. Wonderful staff who helped with our baggage and also gave helpful suggestions when some of our tours were cancelled. FYI, the stairs are steep, narrow, and may not be manageable for those with mobility issues, there were no elevators. This looks like these issues are common for hotels in the area as everything is built upwards. Also, the hotels boss like pets and chin rubs, Kiko the cat. FYI there is daily towel changes and room cleaning. Thank you to the staff at the Sharm.

Reasonable price at Amsterdam. Small room but everything is fine and quiet. Nice location. Friendly staff.

The facility was great, except for the stairs. It was narrow and steep

The hotel has very steep stairs and no elevator. Our room and our friend's room were both so small that you couldn't swing a cat and they were both very grotty. We paid $165 each to stay in a room that only just fit a double bed. We had to pay a $20 deposit for our room keys. The area around the hotel is nondescript despite only being a few minutes walk from Dam Squares. There is nothing in the area. If the hotel was $40 a night, it would still be too expensive. The staff were helpful and friendly but that's the only nice thing that I can say about the Sharm.

The room was so small but the rate was high. I could not even turn myself around in the bathroom.

Amazing and accommodating staff. They were extremely helpful and open to last minute, unforseen changes If you're planning on spending a lot of time in the room, this may not be it. The rooms are small, but it has everything you need while traveling and exploring the city. It's in the heart of Amsterdam, waking distance or a short tram ride to the Central train station, museums and historic attractions.

Very central location, easy to explore the city, customer service was excellent, room was a little small but that’s what you would expect on a budget. We were only there to sleep at night so it was fit for purpose and the beds are comfortable, absolutely loved Kiko the cat too!

First time visiting Amsterdam, so the stairs took me aback. The staff is amazing & friendly! Will stay or recommend it to anyone visiting the city !

I was warmly greeted by the owner and his adorable cat, which made my arrival even more delightful. The room was compact but well-equipped, featuring all the essentials like a fridge, bed, closet, and a private bathroom. It’s not designed for a fancy vacation, but if you’re simply looking for a comfortable place to rest after exploring Amsterdam, it has everything you need at a reasonable price. The room was cleaned daily, which I appreciated, and the location is a major highlight. Being centrally located, it’s an excellent choice for travelers who want a convenient base while enjoying the best of Amsterdam. Overall, it’s a great value for anyone seeking a simple and practical stay.

Clean room, walkable location. Can you carry your luggage up steep flights of stairs?

Frontdesk agent/manager was great. Super friendly and very helpful with great suggestions and opinions about where to go and do. Actually allowed us to leave our bags with him before being able to check in and also allowed us to borrow an umbrella due to the rain. Place is secure and we felt safe. I had read the reviews before booking here so I knew about the narrow stairs upon entering. We are not the typical 300+lbs Americans so the stairs were not an issue. We actually enjoyed the workout. Just don't be high while trying to descend the stairs or you'll be go flying. Have a camera ready just incase though. Overall, great stay, convenient, safe, inexpensive, and will return. Thank you.

Location , clean and very nice staff

Zane was most gracious, even hauled our luggage up and down the many steps. Good location. Comfortable bed with quality bedding. Room is small, but we made it work.
