Historic large monastery in the middle of nowhere, the archaeological display, monk’s cell, the reading room and the library are interesting and good to visit, but apart from going on a nature trail or booking a wine sampling, there isn’t much going on around here. They’ve taken the monastery theme to the extreme in the rooms - the monk’s cell had more useful furniture, but the bathrooms are very nice. Intended to eat dinner in the restaurant, but having been told to pick any table, we were then told very firmly to move, as that one had been laid for three! So we did, to exactly the same size table on the other side of the room. We then waited to order, but no one came with any offer of a drink or bread for over 25 minutes, so we left and had virtually the same meal in the bar! Told the lady on reception about this experience but she wasn’t interested. We ate in the courtyard outside the bar, on the second night and as both the barmen and the very hard working waitress were lovely and helpful, we had a very nice meal in good time.

The parador is an excellent place to stay for a relaxed stay. If you are looking for a peaceful and away from noise vacation, this is it! Rooms and bathroom are very comfortable, simple but luxurious, spacious and quiet! Restaurant is exquisite and breakfast, just great! Highly recommend!

El edificio es espectacular, casi como un museo. La biblioteca y los jardines son preciosos. Las habitaciones son amplias y muy cómodas, y el personal, siempre amable. Las comidas y cenas a la carta son excelentes y el desayuno está muy bien, aunque algo por debajo. En general, una estancia fantástica en un entorno único.

This is a unique property that we had the pleasure of staying at during our visit to Spain. It is in a remote area, in an ancient building, surrounded by a quaint village. Very beautiful inside and out. Excellent food in the dining room both at dinner and breakfast. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable.

Bonus of covered parking for the motorcycle. Great 2 night stop on our tour of north west Spain

I brought a group of friends to the Monasterio hotel as I had visited there 3 years ago. We were not disappointed. It is a fabulous hotel with a wealth of interesting features. The quality of the service is very high. My friends were pleased immensely with their stay in this wonderful venue.

Incredible service from arrival with all the welcome information for your stay prepared and printed in your language. The building is a former monastery and very spacious with its own unique history. Many parts of the hotel display links to that history including underground archeology now incorporated as a museum next to the underground car park, a very interesting encounter. Free parking both outside and within the secure basement car park.
