What an amazing experience and stay! The property was absolutely stunning and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Amazing all the way around

This property upon entering and driving up to the grounds, which are beyond gorgeous and nothing short of a fairytale was breathtaking, our warm welcome we received as well as our dinner experience which were all perfect. Our waiter Emmet was so charming and delightful and the Bartender Andrew with a local named Edward were so nice to us, they were a treat to talk to. Breakfast staff was also friendly and helped answer questions we had about the castle and area. the carriage house rooms were clean and lovely and very comfortable. We so enjoyed our Archery lesson with Natasha who was so friendly and fun at the Activities center. We only wish we could have stayed longer. We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Kilkea Castle, and the Kildare area. We will definitely be back!

What an amazing stay, even if it was only for 1 night! From the ambiance of the castle, the quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff, we enjoyed every minute. The only minor disappointment would be the size of the bed in the carriage house room, which was small for a couple (it seemed like a double or twin, definitely not a queen size). Other that that we had a very enjoyable visit.

Beautiful property

Incredibly beautiful castle, grounds and room. Highly advise a castle bedroom if you can! Very clean, comfortable and huge. Biggest drawback was limited dining options during the week-same menu for lunch and dinner that gets boring pretty fast. Breakfast was tasty and lots of options all included. Close to Dublin- we didn’t have a car but 45 minutes by train and then 10 minute taxi made it easy (except book taxi ahead as Athy is pretty small). Worthwhile for the luxury to stay in a castle!

This was a very fun and unique experience! Everything was fun, clean and delicious! Highly recommend for staying in a castle!

Stunning property and grounds.

This is a beautiful property. We had a carriage room and it was clean, luxurious, and comfortable. Drinks in the bar inside the castle were delicious. As was dinner in Hermione's and breakfast the next morning in the Castle. I would like to have stayed longer to see more of the area.

Accommodation was lovely but we were in the Courtyard rooms and walls were paper thin. Could hear every conversation next door, which really impacted our stay in a negative way. Staff were nice and hotel itself has been expertly refurbished. Food was very good but could be elevated to make it really amazing.

Really enjoyed everything about our stay. The staff at the castle and at Hermione’s restaurant were friendly and helpful, the food was brilliant, the room wasspacious and the bed was comfy, the spa was very relaxing… no complaints and would definitely stay again.

Wonderful stay, but we only had a night. Delicious breakfast and we enjoyed walking around the historical cemetery and the little brook and gardens, even though it was a rainy March day! Highly recommend

It is difficult to fault Kilkea Castle as every aspect of the property impressed. The little things therefore matter and small faults in maintenance, which should be dealt with in a luxury property, tend to stand out more. However, that is digging into the fine detail. So, first impressions carried through from first stepping inside with a warm welcome, the engaging housekeeping staff and superbly professional dining/breakfast room staff. On site activities are a nice touch and worth looking at. Food was well prepared and delivered well. Room was well appointed and tastefully decorated in keeping with the overall castle make-over. Would we go back, in a blink of an eye. Well located in Co.Kildare, the castle offers a great location to explore Ireland's spinal counties. Is Kilkea a great location to simply relax at, absolutely. Go on, indulge.
