I have now stayed here a couple of times. Lovely inn, great food offering, the rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. Look forward to my next visit

The hotel was out of town which I expected but it was in a peaceful environment so happy with it. A big hotel menu which was quite nice.

The food was excellent and the potions enormous. It was rather remote so you needed a car to visit Durham. The park and ride (Belmont) was excellent but you will need sat nav to find it.Uber was £19 to Durham. Most of the staff very friendly a couple not so but didn’t spoil our stay

The hotel was an amazing choice for after my Skydive, as we were with friends they had booked to eat there so made our day more enjoyable. The check in process was easy and as we were eating with friends we didnt go to the room til late. Upon entering the room we noticed how clean it was, tea and coffee facilities were impressive, The bathroom was large and well laid out. The bed was comfortable and the views from the window were great. The staff were excellent as once our friends had left and we had been to the room we went back to the bar for drinks, they opened a tab for us which we settled before retiring back to the room. Breakfast was ample, enough choice and the cooked to order breakfast was just the right size. For a hotel that is not in the middle of a town or city this is great, we dont like to be in the centre so it was a good choice for us.

Booked for an overnight stay as working the music festival at Herrington Park. Excellent communication. Staff polite & professional and happy to accommodate our needs. We had a good sized twin room with all amenities and a large shower room. A good variety of options at breakfast with lovely views overlooking the fields..,, Would happily recommend.

Room was clean, lovely shower but bathroom a little cold. Older property with lots of stairs/steps but room renovated to good standard. The food was excellent both for dinner and breakfast, staff were very helpful and friendly. Would stay there again

Definitely not a 4 star property. It was decent but not great. It is the only place I've ever stayed where the wifi signal doesn't even reach the 2nd floor - we couldn't use it at all. The floor squeaked and creaked with every step. I understand that it's an older building but it wasn't ideal.

Lovely clean room, comfortable bed, modern shower room, nice views. Dinner and breakfast were delicious. Altogether great value for money.

The staff were great. The room was stone cold and even with the radiator control in the room, it took over 2hrs to even start to warm slightly. Obviously centrally controlled as it went off again in the night and was freezing again when the alarm went off. Food was OK and the rating of a 9 online is overrated. 7.5 would be a fairer score. Certainly not terrible but not particularly welcoming stay either.

Excellent breakfast both continental and cooked beautifully to order with friendly and quick service. Dinner in the restaurant was also very good. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. Good shower. Great location for a stopover on way to Scotland. Friendly and efficient staff. Would definitely stay there again.

The place was very popular with locals so parking was a bit awkward, we arrived after 6pm and there wasn’t much room to park. Maybe one criticism would be there isn’t reserve parking for staying guests and after travelling 140 odd miles and to be faced with hunting a parking space was as I said a little awkward. But that shouldn’t take away from what was a nice place to visit great food and a generous breakfast, clean room comfy bed.
