A beautiful Riad ... and what amazing about it is Awad. He never failed to help us in every way he could. He fed us amazing meals (he was a chef for years). His cooking techniques beat out every fancy and home meal we had in our entire Moroccan stay. You have to ask him for his famous sardine dish (spicy) and the amazing Harira soup that requires a lot skill. The food was perfection. We asked for eggs in the morning and he was happy to comply. They serve wine by the bottle or beer. Really nice guests too. Lovely upstairs patio. He let us use the washing machine one day. Arranged our day trips, getting to the Medina, and even our trip to the desert. He is simply lovely. I have worked in the service business for years and the love and care he showered on us was great. He made sure we didn't get ripped off and gave us great tips. We are two females traveling together. I'm a seasoned traveller and I felt this was a special 'home' like space. It isn't fancy but authentic, but the wifi works well, the water is hot, the food is delicious (AMAZING!) and there is nothing Awad won't do to help you. Oh yes, he speaks great English too (he studied it in college). Also willing to pick you up from the train station. We probably asked him for a million little things and several big ones...no issue at all. You can see he is a beloved person in the neighborhood. I'm an artist and don't like the tourist traps. He made sure to recommend the good stuff...and how to avoid the scams.
