Not good value for money. All the staff seem stressed, very uncharacteristic of the pura vida vibe you get at other Costa Rican hotels. Average condition and cleaniness

We like everything about this hotel. Amazing customer service.

Food was pretty good, except for anything sweet. 30 min to 90 min away from anything due to location. Staff was nice and friendly.

People were nice, hard to get a reservation for dinner

Firstly the staff are impeccable. They will try their best to accommodate you and are constantly working to keep the facilities in great shape. The only issue I had was with the restaurant bookings. You expect to at least try all the restaurants they have on site, but they give you an app that shows no time slots available for next 3 days. Apparently there is some Star pass which gives people access to these reservations so people like us who booked through hotels.com are out of luck.

The staff went above and beyond for us especially Karina. She greeted us during our check in and upgraded our stay to a Star room. The hotel was very clean too. The evening show was entertaining but I would recommend better entertainment during the day.

The property is very remote, would've rent a car transportation from hotel to town cost around 250 . If you want to go shopping or to other restaurants.

Exceptional staff. Everyone was friendly and polite and helpful. Probably good to understand property is steeply tiered on a hill. Shuttles on resort were regular, but steep walk if one doesn’t take shuttle. Did scuba through outside company which exceeded expectations. Dining options were great for all-inclusive.

Unable to make dinner reservations same day we checked in (unavailable entire stay). Spoke w/Concierge next morning only able to make two reservations (one was not a resteraunt of choice) had to eat from Buffett all other days. Beach by resort was terrible/dirty (unable to enjoy beach/scenery) and Hotel was secluded from everything. Ordered breakfast room service the night before and was informed we would not receive by requested time (had to rush to buffet as we had a scheduled excursion that morning). Bad/slow wi-fi connection. Cable went out for some time on 2/13/2025 (unable to watch movies). We had a dinner reservation on 2/14 at the Italian resteraunt although husband is not a fan of Italian so we ate at buffet. The morning of 2/15 I started vomiting & had diarrhea. Called room service for plastic bags & toilet paper (believe it was around 3 am). I called to speak w/manager that morning did not receive a call back. We had to check out that morning and asked for late check out at 2 PM but they were unable to accommodate. No one was in the office for the Star/quick checkout had to wait in regular line. Husband also ended up getting diarrhea and we had a terrible experience driving to the airport/waiting at the airport/flying back home. I booked this vacation to celebrate my husbands birthday and it was a bad experience, especially for the price paid and will never stay at Planet Hollywood or an all inclusive hotel due to this. We had great service at the Star Pool!! Yeraly Morales took great care of us!! He went above and beyond to make sure we were having a great time. Lots of things to do and different restaurants. Tony (our personal agent) was great too.

The resort is very spread out, with great shuttle service. We did not like having to book dinner reservations to restaurants on app. We could only get 1 time for a group of 6. We had 18 in our party. Everyone tried, & only one group got in. We did just book small of parties of 2 to 4, but couldn't get same times. Unfortunate. Japanese was our favorite. The buffet was the best, wendy was amazing. She always tried to get us tables next to each other. The food was also very good. Lots of selections. The pools were very nice & bar staff great. Becca was our favorite. We did a couple of excursions, the nature tour was very good. The beach at hotel was very small. Not the nicest. Overall an enjoyable time with our friends.

We were very disappointed in the reservation process and ability to get into the multiple restaurants on the resort even when it was obvious that there were ample open tables. If you’re not going to allow anyone to have reservations, why bother having the restaurants.

Accommodations and staff were both excellent. Friendly amd helpful. Food was veey good. Our Personal Agent Steven was great!! Would definitely stay here again

The dinner reservations are nearly impossible to obtain.

Wonderful all inclusive property! Outstanding service, excellent food and options. Great location for day trips (highly recommend Playa Cabajal nearby, secluded beauty with shaded benches and nearby restaurant).

Married 28 years and travel yearly to all inclusive resorts. Our best vaca ever has been Planet Hollywood Cancun so despite the negative reviews couldn’t wait to visit Costa Rica. Paid almost double our usual budget for PH Costa Rica and honestly rank it on the bottom of our list. Restaurants were extremely small. We upgraded to Star Class and knew from experience to log in upon arrival for dinner reservations and literally no openings for the week anywhere. Had to reach out to our concierge for help and he managed to get us a few 9pm dinner reservations and a 6p. Can’t imagine not having this perk as my guess is the regular rooms would have been stuck with the buffet for all meals. Buffet was extremely small with limited options. Star breakfast, hibachi, Tex-Mex, and steakhouse were good. Typically we choose adult only. Nothing against kids and family but this resort lacked the adult company, exercise pool classes for women, and adult water VB. No adults only section here at all. Can’t blame the kids for being around the pool bars as their kiddo pool was super tiny. Pools just too small. Star class pool had no natural air flow due to a glass enclosure so intensely hot and almost unbearable. Least desirable beach of any resort we've visited. Advertised having water activities, only 1 paddle board and 2 kayaks to entire resort. Staff super friendly but not enough poolside. Overall would not recommend for price. Many other AI with beautiful beaches and better layout.

It was close enough to an airport. Quality of food was better than expected. Had a slight issue with our door but fixed it quickly. Book through Expedia and the treat you like a Star!
