Hotel was clean but room was basic, two dirty cups, no shower gel or towels and low pressure in shower. Breakfast was served under heat lights which dried it out. However on the plus side you could order eggs etc and the staff were very helpful. The gardens were beautiful

The Hotel very clean, and the staff were helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again if we come back to teignmouth

Faded glory in a stunning location. Spacious gardens and fantastic location for the beach, lovely indoor pool. Menu includes vegan sausages on the breakfast menu and vegan options in the restaurant in the evening. Staff are courteous and helpful. Would visit again

Lovely stay and the views were great

The property was very tired and needed a complete overhaul. The staff were generally friendly, the exception was a lady who told us we couldn’t order from the main bar and had to use the bar set up for the wedding. The problem being the wedding bar was cash only, cans and bottles only, and everything sold was written down manually. The grounds are absolutely stunning and definitely perfect for a wedding. Breakfast was plentiful and nice.

The grounds around the property are fantastic and the location of the hotel is perfect. The beach and town are only a short walk away. The hotel itself needs updating. The room was a great size but it wasn’t very clean and the bed was so uncomfortable. It would be good to have a mini fridge in the room. I knew the hotel was pet friendly but I had no idea there would be so many dogs and that they would be allowed in the dining areas. Overall the grounds and outside facilities are great but the inside lets it down.

Nice if a little tired

Really good hotel experience.

The first issue was the toilet roll, it was not new and had a brown stain, which were not sure what it was. Second issue was the cleanliness of the room, dust on all the surfaces when we arrived and still there after two days. Last issue was that unknown to us we should have had canned water and biscuits each day, none arrived until the last day. The staff are helpful, but the whole place is jaded and requires refurbishment. Was obviously a very nice hotel once. It has a swimming pool which is probably the best part. The walk through the well tended grounds down to the beach is great. At £140 a night its too expensive.

Beautiful grounds and gardens, access to the beach. Good facilities including swimming pool, bar, pool room.Very welcoming. Good breakfast. Good parking. Standard room wasn't the best. Overall very good and would come again.

We stayed at The Cliffden in order to visit a concert at Exeter Cathedral. , and a lovely breakfast. It was a bonus that they had a indoor swimming pool.

We went away with our grandson for two nights. Our family room was fantastic!! Very roomy, great bathroom with bath and a shower and a balcony. We also took our dog and he was allowed to go in all areas. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. Swimming pool was really nice, the hotel has spent some money in refurbishing certain areas.

Excellent value for money. Lovely garden/grounds and indoor pool. Great location with a short walk to the town and beach. Great food for breakfast and dinner. All staff very friendly and helpful.

The room size is amazing and the grounds are beautiful and the staff are very friendly and loved the pool.

A sulpher smell coming from shower drain in bathroom. Over all we had a lovely stay, facilities and staff were good. Would stay here again

Happy with hotel, staff and facilities.

The hotel is one of the older ones but this adds to it charm in many areas. There is a lift to the upper floors. The gardens are beautiful and well kept. Offering a walk through to the sea front and shopping area. The room we had was small with a small shower cubicle with plenty of hot water, shower gel and body lotion by Dove. Everything was clean. The bed was also comfortable. Plus a sea view. We used the free indoor pool which was modern and very nice, towels and door key gained from reception. All the staff were very welcoming and happy to help at all times. Food was of a good standard and hot. Again staff did their best to help everyone.
