room windows were fast shut - should provide a small opener otherwise ok

Friendly staff, lovely cool room on a really hot day. Pity the pool was still not operational

Disappointed that the leasure center and pool were undergoing renovation and we had not been informed of this at the booking stage. We should have been informed by the hotel or Expedia. What compensation will there be for this disappoint.

Extremely disappointed - spa and pool closed due to building work, not clearly stated on Expedia. Specifically booked for these facilities after a very long drive. Hotel needed updating and didn’t feel immaculately clean. Front desk was a mess. Paid £144 for one night in a room that felt like a Premier Inn room with a fridge added. Stains on carpet, no pictures or nice touches apart from robes and slippers. Sofabed looked tired and old. Cooked breakfast was good but continental had only mandarin segments - no other fruit and no choice of cereals or pasties. Dining room was bland and dark with no atmosphere - we asked to put music on as it was deathly quiet. Best thing was free parking in a lovely historic town and the shoe shop opposite which was a Sketchers outlet selling end of line with at least 50% discount. Thai restaurant a few doors down from hotel was excellent with outstanding food. Wouldn’t stay again.

The room was clean and the staff were friendly.

Lovely breakfast easy parking

I managed to get the last parking space available fortunately. The hotel is a mix of old and new. The older part is pleasant enough but the new rooms more recently built in a separate building are excellent. The food at The Burton is good. No complaints whatsoever. The thing that stood out though was the staff. They were all so helpful and welcoming. From the young lady who had just started at the hotel to the manager Jana, they were all exceptional.

Fabulous weekend. Shame the pool was closed for a refurb. but couldn't fault the place!

Room was very clean (however decor dated), rest of hotel areas were nicely decorated, clean and inviting. Staff were very welcoming and attentive, Breakfast was perfect and parking was easy.

Lovely staff, clean room, good food.

Very old-fashioned building, unfriendly staff, and the staff didn't even help me connect to the Wi-Fi. However, the food and swimming were excellent.

Everything was good. There was nothing I can say that was not good. The toilet was low in the accessible bathroom but I am tall so it would not have been a problem for the average person.
