Bedrooms very dated, everything else was fine

Comfy beds, large room. Lovely bathroom with walk in shower. Just off the high street and all the shops.

Very good experience from check-in to checkout. Staff were extremely good. One word of warning though. No lift makes staying in room 25 upwards a bit of a trek. Besides that the room itself was worth it.

Absolutely awful, we booked for two nights and left after one. The hotel itself is very average. The room was basic but on the plus side appeared clean. We were travelling with a newborn baby and a dog and no cot was provided so we had to go and buy one. Water pressure was terrible, shower was really poor and cold water was tepid permanently. The WiFi didn't reach the room either as the room was up 4 flights of uneven and unlevel stairs. We had to ask for a fan to cool the room down and were told there wasn't one. Room temperature didn't drop below 30 degrees Celsius which was horrendous and potentially dangerous for a newborn baby. Location is opposite a pub and round from a nightclub, once the noise from those dissipated at around 3.30am the seagulls started. Breakfast was average, the fry up was really greasy and everything appeared to be deep fried. One staff member tried to be helpful and even moved us rooms but we couldn't face another noisy night in the blistering heat so decided to move to the Lunan Hotel ten minutes away which was absolute bliss in comparison. Definitely would not recommend staying at the George Hotel, massively overpriced for the standard of accommodation.

The staff was good and the food in the restaurant was good. The downside was Sharky's across the street was so loud on Friday night and Saturday night, my wife and I could not fall asleep until after two AM..

Property is in excellent condition given the fact the seagulls have made a mess all over Montrose.

I stayed overnight on Tues 20 May-Wed 21 May to meet friends on the morning of 21 May, to visit Montrose Museum & Art Gallery. I had booked lunch for 1.00pm in the hotel. Dinner, Breakfast and Lunch were all served very efficiently. Portions of food were generous.

Booked at the last minute, the hotel proved to be easy to find, quick friendly check-in. The room was lovely, with a comfy super-king bed, a large room, well lit by 4 windows, good-size shower room, modern and all very clean. Dinner and drinks in the dining room, good portions, well cooked and presented, good value, great service.

My stay was very good but the lighting in my room was very poor and also in the breakfast room.

Booked this king room as it said it was pet friendly. Got there and the young lad on reception said room was not pet friendly. I informed him that 20mins after i booked the room i phoned the hotel to check about the room and it was he that assured me the rooms are pet friendly. He had to change us to a double room but charged us the same price. Double room was £11 less. Room was noisy all night with a draft coming through the window. Room was dirty, dust everywhere and the curtains were a disgrace. Breakfast was nice but when i spoke to the lady on reception about our room and asked for a discount i got nothing but attitude and no thanks or goodbye. Would not stop here again if you paid me. Totally ruined our New years eve.

Close to work and walking distance to food and drink. Meals in the George were great value and large portions. Would stay again.

駅からわりと近い。建物は古い。床が傾いた状態でレストアしとるんで歩くのに慣れが必要。当然エレベーター無し。水回りは綺麗で暖房は十分快適。しかし部屋が古くベッド配置等に無理がありスーツケース広げるのに苦労する。タオルと寝具は清潔に見える。『部屋で飲食するな』との注意書き。そのためか湯沸かしポットと茶葉カップ類は変なところに置いてる。朝食は立派なフル英国風。スタッフは純朴で親切。これでも少し安かったら嬉しいのに。

Nice comfy hotel, nice restuarant and both supper and breakfast were well cooked, and tasty. Staff were polite.

Enjoyable stay in comfortable room 16. It is situated on 2nd floor above laundry..so nice and warm...windows open for ventilation Staff were courteous and helpful...breakfast was superb...Thanks to all staff

Wonderful staff at a very friendly and well presented hotel. I would highly recommend this delightful hotel. Amazing meals available in the lounge bar.

Overnight stay on business trip, Old style hotel with the quirks that come with it, Food great , but service poor and slow, young lad on breakfast can only assume in training, not aware of customers , could retain requests, 4 times had to ask for coffee, sat 20 mins before I had to approach him for service etc etc
