Excellent

Check in was strange, chef at reception that didn't feel professional at doing things. A request for an ice bucket was not arranged for arrival and when it did arrive it was a wine cooler delivered with 6 lumps of ice by a young lady who said "I've been told to bring this". Room was comfortable but very warm, the bathroom was very dated and the shower gels smelt very off. No remote for TV but was sorted quickly. Breakfast was good but buffet wasnt properly topped up enough. Overall it was ok but big room for improvement as elements were clearly lacking the qualities of a 3 star hotel.

Never been to Exeter before and this hotel was very well situated for the town centre. Outdoor find no fault with the hotel and if we were in Exeter again we would stay there again.

The room was clean, bed comfortable, but the room was really hot, even with the fan on. since the room was at the front with one aspect it was very hard to get air into the room and it would benefit a lot from Air Con. Parking was available, but it was additional cost. The breakfast was very good value.

It was a decent and comfortable room.

Although stairs in an old building are inevitable, there is one point part way along the corridor leading to room 6 whereby the door seems to be opening the wrong way round. It opens to reveal a short spiral stair with the inner or central part as the step. If you are less agile when reaching to step on the wider bit the door behind you closes and pushes you forward. If the door opened from left to right then you can step directing on to the wider part of the stair.

If you are offered room 406 ask for a different

Very central location. Excellent staff service, very efficient and friendly. Room very clean but very warm despite having a fan so didn't sleep well although the bed was comfy. Breakfast was excellent both quality and quantity and pricing👌.

L’hotel è un edificio vecchio con un certo fascino in centro a Exeter. Offre agli ospiti la possibilità di un parcheggio a pagamento a tariffa contenuta( 10 sterline a notte) il che è molto comodo in città. La nostra camera era al quarto piano , esposta al sole di pomeriggio ed era un vero FORNO!!!! Invivibile! Le camere non sono dotate di aria condizionata e Avevamo a disposizione solo un piccolo ventilatore del tutto insufficiente .Dormire era veramente difficile. Dovendo fermarci per quattro notti abbiamo chiesto di cambiare stanza , cosa che sarebbe stata possibile solo dopo la terza notte, lasciando la stanza entro le undici. Poiché avevamo una laurea nel pomeriggio abbiamo chiesto di poter tenere la stanza fino alle 12.30per cambiarci ma la nostra richiesta è stata rifiutata senza alcun tentativo di trovare una soluzione.Nessuna volontà di venirci incontro. Il buffet della colazione era discreto ma spesso sguarnito. Non ritorneremo.

The property itself is lovely and tucked away with its own little alley. The pub and garden were charming, and the wine room was cool and cozy. However, staff was often nowhere to be seen in the restaurant or pub, and one of the younger men always seemed annoyed by anything you wanted. Food was grossly overpriced for what you got, and the rooms were unbearably hot. We also couldn't get the towel warmer to turn off so the bathroom was sweltering and we had to keep the door shut to keep the rest of the room from heating anymore than it already was. On the upside, there's plenty in walking distance, including a cheap pub right across the street.

The shower in our room had black mold in it we didn’t use it

My room was great. Comfortable bed, excellent bathroom, and the coffee sachets in the room were the best I've ever tasted. The location is so central to all I wanted to visit. All this in a 600 year old place is something special. Highly recommend.

Very good location to the centre, we stayed in the suite, very comfortable king size bed, with our own bathroom with free standing bath and separate shower. Iron and ironing boarding in room and tea & coffee making facilities, would stay again.

Zum Check-In war das Zimmer nicht fertig, erst 1,5 Std später. Das Personal war nicht sehr freundlich, außer im Frühstücksservice. Im Zimmer war das Wasser in der Dusche abwechselnd warm und kalt. Das britische Frühstück wurde speziell nach Karte zubereitet, das kontinentale Frühstück bestand aus Toast, Marmelade, Obstkorb und Fertigprodukt Porridge.

A lovely old building with a charming, old-world atmosphere. When I checked in at the agreed time, the room wasn’t ready yet. The single room was small, the shower was only lukewarm, and to make matters worse, the heating was on in the bathroom even though the outside temperature was 27°C, and it couldn’t be turned off. The staff weren’t very friendly, except for those serving breakfast. The continental breakfast was rather basic.

We all had a lovely stay here. Rooms were very clean, lovely little garden for a drink and a fab breakfast in the morning,

I felt this was expensive for the small room provided with a shower that was either boiling hot or freezing cold. Staff were lovely but room was too hot, too small. If breakfast was included in the price it wouldn’t have felt so bad but very basic for the price.

A very convenient location with onsite parking. Breakfast was reasonably priced and convenient. Staff were friendly and helpful.
