I'm guessing the property was built in the late 70's, so looking a little dated in terms of decor, but very clean and well maintained. Staff were helpful, full English breakfast was of a good quality. Basement level standard twin room lacked air conditioning, (ground and 1st floor have aircon, I was informed by the receptionist on departure), but fan was more than adequate, which was essential as we were entering the heat-wave in early July 2026. Only downside was the hum from a generator room some 20 metres away.

Groups of foreign men sat on the stairs drinking cans out side the property until midnight. Very intimidating and definitely not worth what I paid.

What a lovely find, we booked last minute due to a horrible experience with our initial Booking and what a delight this place was. Beds very comfortable, was a pleasure to stay here, would recommend!

A blast from the past! This old-fashioned resort was a joy to be in, from the late-80’s decor to the disused nightclub. The rooms were cleans as a whistle, quiet and very comfortable - we slept like logs. It’s a bit of an Overlook Hotel experience, and we loved every minute of it.

Staff - lovely pizza (was incredible) brilliant they have a pizza oven. Room is basic but always nice. Easy car parking and beautiful lake.

I was double charged for breakfast on day one, still waiting for refund to cr card. It's only 12.5 pounds, but it was assured that it would be refunded if my stay included breakfasts

Nice big clean bed. Very nice staff. Very very dated. Think 'crossroads motel'. Got a good sleep. Toilets are set quite high. Great for people 5'9 and over. Otherwise your legs are dangling.

The room was spotless and very comfortable, breakfast was good, decent selection. Overall hotel dated, but only stayed two nights. Reception staff, could do with retraining, a couple of conversations while we were walking past and down the stairs not appropriate.

Nice quiet location but rather remote to other amenities. Hotel could do with some upgrades as quite dated. Room had wet marks on the ceiling. Air con was great. Breakfast was OK but lacked fruit. Staff were really friendly.

Such a peaceful stay and the staff were so friendly and helpful, we will definately be back!

Provided a good clean en suite room and good breakfast at a very reasonable rate. The hotel needs updating and the leisure facilities were closed but I was there on business and they provided everything I needed within my budget.

Excellent choices for breakfast, and Pat on duty in the restaurant was so hepful - nothing too much trouble. I have stayed at this hotel before, and hope to return again sometime.

Not a chain hotel. Staff are very good and helpful. The breakfast was made to order. The only think was the bed was very uncomfortable. Out back again
