Stayed only one night but we liked it very much. Still and quiet. You were very welcome there. Nice breakfast.

With just 3 rooms this beautiful B&B is the best I’ve ever experienced. Situated in a tiny hamlet 15 miles south of Oban, it is blissfully quiet and remote. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

What a lovely room! We stayed in the Hill room with a garden view. The home was beautifully appointed. We enjoyed a great night sleep, and then breakfast in the dining room. A walk around the property was the perfect ending. Sorry we didn't get the chance to dine here, but Matthew had great recommendations for us.

It was a pleasure and a privilege to stay at Matthew’s house.

We had an amazing stay at Melfort House and we would love to go back. The house is warm and welcoming, just like Matthew the host. The loch room has excellent views and the garden surrounding the house is green and lush. Matthew is an excellent cook and every guest should take the opportunity to have a homemade multi-course meal in the beautiful dining room with the other guests, truly a unique experience. We had dinner at the pub located in the holiday village next door one night and to our surprise Matthew turned up there to sing and play the guitar- and he is just as talented as a musician as a cook. Thank you Matthew for a wonderful stay and the best holiday memories.

We stayed 2 days and it was excellent. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The large drawing room that overlooks Loch Melfort was also available for us to use which we enjoyed. We enjoyed a delicious 4 course dinner on the evening of our arrival prepared and served by our host Mathew. This was our first visit to Melfort House and hopefully we will be back again soon.

What a gorgeous place! The view from our room was absolutely stunning. Our host was kind, helpful and made us a wonderful breakfast the next morning. 10/10!

A haven of peace and tranquillity. The house is very spacious, welcoming lounge with amazing loch views. Full of interesting objects and books.The gardens are beautiful with mixture of wild bluebells but also lawns and a magnificent monkey puzzle tree. The breakfast was tasty and good choice. Thank you and would love to return when in the area again.

Matt was a great host and his home was incredible.

The highland Coo’s was the reason why we came. Place is fine. Views are wonderful.

If you appreciate art, history, fine dinning as well as exceptional beauty and hospitality...then Melfort House is the place for you! From the moment we drove up to the house, stepping into the foyer and receiving a warm welcoming greeting from Leah, we were awestruck! The entire house and property is a work of art. The bedroom made us both gasp with it's charm - a complimentary decanter of Scotch whisky on the antique dresser. The king-sized bed was so very comfortable. The bathroom had the most comfortable soaking tub. The sitting room and dining room simply beautiful with so many antiques and quirky items on display. The view from the drawing room and grounds - magnificent! Matthew is a passionate and accomplished Chef. We highly recommend Melfort House. As we commented in the guestbook: "It was like staying overnight in a museum"! Our intention is to return next year.
