Great customer service

There are so many blessings waiting for you at the Tembo House, but the A/C was my saving grace 🌞! The pools were clean and inviting. The room was furnished with history and luxury (we stayed in a triple room). The staff were like meeting old friends and being treated like family. Lounging at the beach and watching the Friday night scene was exciting, charming, and safe. The hotel is located in the heart of the Stone Town experience. My family (wife and 2 pre-teen sons) cannot wait to return. Will stay here for all our future Stone Town adventures!

The location can't be beat in Stone Town! Beautiful historic hotel with a restaurant and 3 pools, right on the beach. Walking distance to many locations in Stone Town.

Décor coloniale conforme aux images et photos , cependant de vieilles portes de bois crées beaucoup d'échos et de bruits réduisant l'insonorisation . Déjeuner-buffet ,que passable mais considérant le prix de la chambre , son emplacement dans Stonetown , le Tembo hotel offre un produit plus Qu'honnête.

Laundry service was available. It was convenient to get food and drinks and it is billed upon checkout. It is right on the beach.

The location and hotel were fantastic. We didn't much care for the breakfast as it was missing some essential meat items and very heavy on bread. They had eggs but it just wasn't the best so we went out for breakfast the second day. The hotel is beautiful, well situated and has three pools but there's no bar area and I don't think they sell any alcohol so we ended up next door at Livingstones alot

The breakfast was definitely an interesting and so the second day we went out for breakfast. Staff in the hotel was great! However the Halls echo big time so when a cleaning person or other staff members in the whole talking to the staff member it's so loud it literally will wake you up in the middle of your room. Moving chairs or anything like that is just super loud.... The location is super and the hotel is great it just generally could tweak a few things to make it a little bit more comfortable.

Staff was very helpful. The room assigned to us was very spacious. The home restaurant is very good. It’s also very family friendly.

Very well organized and trained staff. Rooms have an antique feel but with modern amenities. Meals are excellent.

Pent hotell til prisen. Stilig hotell med flotte farger, pene svømmebasseng, veldig hyggelige ansatte. Ligger rett ved der alle småbåtene legger til, og hvor alle kapteinene venter på reisende - som gjør det lett å finne en båt ut til for eksempel Prison Island. Grei frokost, pene områder å spise i. Aircondition, myggnetting rundt sengene (mygg var ikke et problem i slutten av mai). Badet virket noe slitt med fuktskader/noe mugg i treverket på døra og et ganske ekkelt dusjhode (dårlig renholdt/gammelt), som gjør at helhetsinntrykket trekkes noe ned. Plassert i en fin del av Stone Town. Ble litt overrasket over at man ikke bør vandre hvor som helst i byen. Selgere, tiggere, taxisjåfører, med flere er veldig pågående i dette området. Går ikke an å ligge ved strandlinjen uten å bli konstant forstyrret, men bassengene er flotte. Hotellet tar mye for å fikse turer etc, eksempelvis er det mye billigere å kjøpe en tur over til Prison Island selv rett utenfor, direkte med en av båtførerne (20 USD vs hotellets 40$ for samme tur).

Et gammelt stort hotell med sjel. Fantastisk beliggenhet rett på stranden og hjertet av gamlebyen. Et supert utgangspunkt til å oppleve byens smale gater og pulserende liv. Hotellet har en lang historie og det ser man på hele bygget. Vi hadde bestilt rom med havutsikt, men vi måtte legge en smule godvilje til for å se havet. En del av rommene vender mot en bakgate på hotellets sørside hvor både hotellets egen og nabohotellets kjøleanlegg lager støy. Samtidig som at nødstrømagregatet er plassert samme sted, når strømmen går (hvilket skjedde flere ganger i døgnet) så høres duren fra aggregatene rimelig godt. Personalet forsøkte etter beste evne å finne et annet rom til oss men det var så fullbooket at det var ikke mye å velge mellom.

We stayed at Tembo House Hotel in Stone Town for two nights, in room 106. While the hotel has some positive aspects, there are also several areas that could be improved. The room was very small, with barely enough space for our luggage. It felt cramped, and it was almost impossible to move around the bed on both sides. The bed itself was quite hard and uncomfortable, with only a thin blanket and sheet provided, which did not add much to the comfort level. Additionally, the room was quite noisy, with a lot of sound coming in from the hallway. In the restaurant, we experienced that both crows and cats would come inside, meaning you had to keep a close eye on your food. That said, the food itself was tasty and well-prepared, which was a definite positive. On the plus side, the hotel staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We also appreciated that the hotel provided us with an early breakfast in a takeaway bag, as we had to leave before the restaurant opened—this was a thoughtful and convenient touch. Overall, while the service and food were good, the room conditions and restaurant environment leave room for improvement.

Perfect building with feeling of stone town. Employees were very friendly and hotel was helpful with whatever we needed. I’d stay here again for sure.

Fantastic hotel in colonial style. Not new and shing but an experience in itself. Situated right on the beach and at the same time in the middle of Stonetown. Highly recommended.

A very cool spot! Gorgeous and historical right in Old Stone Town the room was beautiful!

Das Hotel hat eine hervorragende Lage, direkt am Meer und in die Altstadt sind es nur ein paar Schritte. Erwähnenswert auch die 3 Pools, besonders die beiden oberen bieten einen herrlichen Blick auf die See. Es war ein Wohlfühl - Aufenthalt. Der einzige Negativpunkt war, das Expedia während des Buchungsprozesses den Preis erhöht hat. Auch der 10 % Gutschein wurde hierbei wieder kassiert.

Breakfast is always fresh with many options. Staff is very attentive. The view is perfect.
