Could not tell our room so had to pay cash at bar as we waited for our room. Walk from lobby to sea side bar was the only magical thing about this property. You walked through a well maintained garden canopy of ferns, flowers and fronds. Hat to ask for toilet paper three times, only bar soap provided, much of the lighting was bare bulb wall sconces. Upon stepping in to the room was well detailed at first glance. Walls where thin, could understand conversations in adjacent room. It looks like they are trying to update stuff but we did not see the results of that work. Process good for one night… if you are looking for a bed and beach / pool time this is fine, but beyond that… be aware.

Property needed upgrading,poor internet service,room wasn’t clean,towels where grey and dingy, no cover sheets on bed,and old worn pillows,only had a couple of channels on TV ,and a small fridge that wasn’t working.access directly to the beach was a plus,and it had a nice small pool

Nothing unique about the property. They were doing renovation so it was a little bit noisy.

Average hotel room with a slip hazard after the rain when entering the premises. Bed, fridge and air condition was fine.

The Palms was very clean & comfortable. The rooms have new TVs with cable. The restaurant has excellent food with very reasonable prices. The pool was nice & very clean and the beach area, with beach chairs, was well kept.

I like the way the staff or friendly they make you feel welcome. The kitchen need improvement guest should not having to waith 30 minutes for a cup of coffee. Also when buying at the bar take a menu because if they will over charge you it happen to me, I get 3 different prices form the same thing with different person. If you see you room don't clean it because only one key so you have to leave with the housekeeper if you wanted your room clean.

There were issues. The pool was closed from the time we arrived (around 4pm) and still closed when we left. That was disappointing. A lot of little bugs in the room - understandable as windows and doors had wooden slats. Had to go to front desk quite a few times for internet problems, no blanket in the room. It was worth what we paid.

Fantastic place. Simple clean and friendly

It was a rip off, you shouldn’t offer anything on your site like this, we stayed for 2 nights out of 17 booked and paid for. Had to move else where at great expense, I’d like to pursue a refund for the nights not spent there. It was terrible

Property is really quiet and nice however they are lack of room amenities and need to pay more attention to linen in the room

Pros: Small beachfront property with chairs and umbrellas. Cons: Wooden window louvers did not completely close and allowed regular conversations, night frog noise, and biting insects an easy entrance. Woke each morning with additional bites even when using bug spray. Room was clean but very basic with no chairs to sit on except outside. Bathroom was functional but no hot water. Small cafe and bar on-site with food that can be charged to your room. Would probably stay again but ask for another room further away from the road and with windows that stay closed.

We love the beach. The hotel is working hard on making improvements. We will be back.

Love the property location and design, evnironment and staff. Pleasant and courteous. Worth the cost of the room. I will definitely be back!

First time staying here and read the reviews before booking. We were only planning one night before heading to the all-inclusive next door so didnt worry too much about the negative reviews. After staying we did not understand why the reviews were so negative. I thought the place was clean, well-managed, and easily worth the price. The rooms are situated with lush jungle landscaping. The beach was just steps away. They had a pool, bar, restaurant, beach chairs, etc. Honestly if the food and drinks were included it would be not too far off from other all-inclusive accommodations we have stayed in the area. Sure the rooms are not as luxurious as other resorts but sometimes the other resorts are overkill for what you need. I would definitely recommend this place for exploring the area on a budget.
