This is not a ´Boutique Hotel’ as per the description. 1. No staff found at all until the morning of our last day when I found the GM who was hidden in an office marked staff only. I raised with her many of the points below. A hotel would have a visible reception presence at the main entrance and overnight security. I met a man cleaning the stairs on our last night, he may have been the night Porter? 2. No restaurant, bar, or anywhere to eat. A hotel would have all of these. The ‘well equipped communal kitchen’ had no forks, 2 mugs and no glasses. The fridge freezers are not properly cleaned or defrosted. 3. Our room had no tea/coffee making facilities which would be standard in a hotel. 4. No bedside table except an old school examination desk, 1 bedside light, no wardrobe (rail only) and no full length mirror. Again, standard in any hotel. 5. Contactless check-in is a euphemism for no staff. Risky as are the key codes changed? 6. The ‘on site secure car park’ is a misleading overstatement. It is a secluded, unlit area with a very uneven surface and no security whatsoever. 6. The decking outside the conservatory to the right of the entrance is unusable as it has rotted and is cordoned off. 7. The large tree outside the front of the entrance is similarly cordoned off, perhaps on advice? Both are serious H&S issues. 8. Other guests seemed to be working age men from other countries, working men’s clothing was seen to be drying in the conservatory on a daily basis.

I didn't stay. Unsatisfactory. Would not recommend it.

Clean room, lovely old building in a nice location

This is a religious commune area that rents rooms. It is self checking too. Majority of people live there. This was not in the description. The shared bathroom was for the whole second floor. Dogs barking constantly throughout the evening and early hours of the morning. Bed was terrible, so springs in your back, had to sleep on top of the duvet which I folded in half for extra padding, but I used towel as sheet. Tried to call the number given to ask for extra duvet but only answerphone facility. No facilities in room only a bed, bedside cabinet and rail for clothes. Also took a while to find room as I was told I was in 210 but it didn't exist on the second floor according to the signage.

Very basic, but if you just need a bed it's a good option. Good points: good location, good parking, clean, good WiFi Bad points: very poor mattress, shower scalding hot and impossible to control, no furniture other than bed and bedside table. I will use this hotel again because of price and location and parking. You get what you pay for and I don't need much!

The t v in my room 7 kept on missing a beat with the picture then coming back on so frustrating apart from that everything ok

It was a nice place but i found the room a bit small shower didn't work to well i found stairs difficult because im disabled but it was just somewhere to stay while i was visiting my grand childern

This place is an insulting to Hotels, the rooms shown are nothing like what i got a kids play room with a school desk in it and that's it fir over £60 a night. I wouldn't give £20 to stay in such a S hole.

Let’s not beat around the bush, it wasn’t clear that this room had a ‘communal bathroom’ which as a business traveller and 43, is not something I would ever consider - but apparently it was on the listing….now considering this and the fact that you are greeted by two towels and a toilet roll would indicate that this is a hostel - nothing wrong with that but the area is interesting with other types of accommodation surrounding the hostel, it didn’t feel threatening but definitely not a country house hotel that it may try to give an impression of. The check in was a pain and the poor lady on reception stated that because I had booked through this site I wouldn’t have received the relevant email to get in my room - so I was waiting in the rain for 10 minutes working out what to do….

Clean and newly decorated room I stayed in a single room on the second floor Mostly spacious and had a lovely ensuite - nice shower Had a kitchen area downstairs which was ideal for me Good for staying at whilst away with work Would recommend and will book again Very cost effective too

No receptionist, so if problem with other residents no one to help. The statues on outside lit beautifully, so was my room by the same lights. Hotel is hard to find, room was lovelyand warm, but bathroom smelled, toilet was stained, toilet bowel cracked. Overall its over priced.

Hassle free simple basic accommodation room a little on the warm side for me but excellent shower and comfortable bed
