Poor location but friendly owner and receptionist Judy

Good location for Mombasa Train Station - 500 KES for a taxi - arranged by the hotel. The staff were very friendly and room was clean but basic, however breakfast is included so a good price. You are able to eat in the hotel, basic but very inexpensive menu. It is very near to a Mosque and prayer starts at 0500 hrs, ok if you need to catch the train as an early start is needed. Would not really recommend go out and about.

Was thinking it was close to the airport, but it was a traffic jam there. Was eaten alive by mosquitos. Room was tiny, no ac. Fan not working. Food was good!

Hotel is okay, staff attitude and service very good, free airport pick-up service functioned well. Good option for staying overnight. Neighborhood seemed to be all right, but maybe not so attractive for guests who want to stroll around in beautiful or exciting surroundings.

Please remember alcohol and smoking is not permitted in hotel. The hotel is located near Nairobi-Mombasa road which is mostly packed with traffic jam, so expect a delay if you are reaching hotel. The staff is courteous and rooms are clean. Wi-fi doesn't work on 1st and 2nd floor. The food is good and are priced reasonably.

Coastgate has very friendly staff and great service. They were very flexible to arrange our stay as pleasant as possible. The hotel was clean and cozy. The only downside is the surroundings. It's not really a place to spend a week, because there's not much around it. It is close to the airport, though, and it's a perfect place to spend a night and eat properly before long flights.

I had a small room but it was clean and comfortable. Nice hot shower was so good! Bed was perfect. Staff was very helpfull and make you feel at home. I ask for breakfast before 7 am when in normaly starts. Hakuna matata! Perfect! Aldow the nearby highway is very buzzy the night was calm and good. Asante sana for the pleasant stay!

We were received with so much care and love. Personal attention was given all the time and the Manager even took us into Mombasa where he organised a guide to take us around. He went out of the way to set up my Laptop fro Kenya as well as helping us get a cell phone sim card as well as money exchange. We really have NEVER received such good reception at any hotel before . Will definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting Mombasa and would return if the opportunity arrived

Room is very nice. Service is typically Kenyan - slow and disorganised. Receptionist had no details of our booking. Food is above average and well priced.

Planed to stay 2 days, but in the end I stay 4 days. Wonderful staff and so nice hotel. Food very nice. Beach so nice for morningwalk. And best of al: No TIP!!!! Go on like tihis and I gone to bring friends and coming down again.
