Expedia does not accurately indicate that the distance to the churches. Therefore, if you do not have a car, add 30-45 more minutes to your walk and energy. It will take longer than the time posted. The streets are steep up and down. Having a car will be challenging with the very sharp turns and very steep streets. It was also challenging to locate the store that you need to get your keys to the house. It is not a hotel but shared rooms. Your room cost will also based on number of people not just the room so if you have last minute number of people, for 2 more people they will add another 100 EU. Note: I chose not to stay because of the additional cost and the challenge of trying to find the store to get the keys. They have limited hours of when you can pick up the keys for the rooms and bit of challenging if you are new traveling to Italy-Assisi. I did not know about these issues until showing up at the location and they will not refund your money. However, Expedia can only refund with through credits.

Room was very clean! Had a beautiful view. And a lovely rooftop patio! Would definitely stay here again.

The proprietor was very accommodating and welcoming. My room was comfortable and clean, the bathroom was spotless, and the rooftop balcony and kitchen were an added bonus. The surrounding area was safe, safe and welcomed at the accommodation.

The owner, Mr. Geo Gambacorta and his son Marco are very kind and helpful. Check-in went very smoothly. + Proximity to Santa Chiara basilica, you can easily take the bus to go aroubd Umbria or to the train station + kitchen is great, you can cook your own meals, it has everything needed, including all kinds of dishes and cutlery + terrace!!!! Amazing views of Assisi + tv in the room, nice window blinds + fully equipped bathroom, hot water runs perfectly - cleanliness of my room (no 2) was neglected - small cockroaches in the room, the owner should get rid of them - restaurant right under the windows of the accommodation, it can get very noisy at night, bring ohropax - only 1 1/2 toilet paper rolls for 5 days! I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back, most things which bothered me were the roaches and the restaurant. But when it rained the restaurant was not so noisy as the tables were outside.

Compatibilmente con la tipologia di struttura e, conseguentemente con quelle che erano le aspettative , non certo pretenziose, siamo rimasti molto soddisfatti dalla splendida posizione , centrale e strategica rispetto alla possibilita' di visitare Assisi, dalla pulizia della camera e dalla gentilezza dei gestori. Note negative: Mancanza di un frigobar in camera. Il proprietario ci aveva consegnato una tessera sconto per il vicino parcheggio in base al quale per 2gg ,anziche' 24 euro ,avremmo pagato la meta' . Al momento del pagamento la cassiera del parcheggio ci ha invece comunicato che il sig. Gambacorta evidentemente non era informato delle nuove tariffe vigenti dal 1agosto e che l'importo da pagare era 24.

We stayed in this beautiful 430-year-old building during a two-and-a-half day stay in Assisi. The building and its surroundings are atmospheric and scenic, and built from solid stone. It's within a few minutes walk of anything in the old city of Assisi. There was a great restaurant right out the back door that served fantastic Pappa al Pomodoro recipe. The owner and his son were very helpful, and own a nearby food store where we bought some breakfast and lunch items. The interior beds are good enough, but could be more comfortable. We didn't want to leave Assisi, and would stay here again. I highly recommend it.

Posizione comodissima per visitare Assisi, pulizia delle camere e dei bagni scrupolosa, tv nelle camere, cucina accessoriata, gradito il bollitore con filtri thè e caffè a disposizione, assolutamente da ritornarci anche per il prezzo molto conveniente.

Mi è piaciuto soggiornare ad Assisi, splendida cittadina. Consiglio il soggiorno qui per la camera pulita, il personale gentile e disponibile, e la vicinanza con la chiesa di Santa Chiara. Ottimo!
