The hotel was great. All the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Great inn wonderful staff, good room and great food could not ask for more

The staff were excellent and the food was very good, although we did have to send our steaks back as medium rare came out as exceedingly rare. The replacements were spot on, however. The rooms were very nice, with comfortable beds and blackout curtains. The only disappointment was that they were adjacent to the Inn proper and facing the parking lot, so it felt more like staying at a high end motel. The laundry delivery truck came at 6am, parked not 30 feet from our door and woke us up doing linen exchange. An hour later it was the garbage truck picking up from the kitchen bin enclosure, which was right outside the rooms. We had to don a raincoat to go from our rooms to dinner in the Inn. None of this was expected when booking. The only upside to our rooms was the accessibility for my elderly mother. Be advised that the Inn is not within walking distance of anything, but only a short drive to the tourist town of Cheddar in the Cheddar Gorge, which has shops and restaurants.

We had an amazing 3 nights at the Swan. From the time we arrived to when we left the service was excellent. We were offered a drink from the bar when we arrived and on departure a coffee for the journey, never have we had this while staying in a pub! All the staff were friendly and very helpful, offering to help with our bags and any other needs we had. Our room, The Dolebury, was in an annex set aside from the actual pub and was beautiful and very clean. Complimentary water, tea and coffee and toiletries in the bathroom. Breakfasts were cooked to order and were delicious and plentiful. We also ate in the pub 2 evenings and the food was very tasty and good options. We would totally recommend this pub set in a beautiful tranquil location, though also very easy to reach places like Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole and Glastonbury. They were also super helpful at getting my husband’s wedding ring returned which he left in the bathroom when we checked out!!

Stayed for 3 nights in Lookout with our 2 dogs. Received a warm welcome and great service throughout from Sam and his team. The room is spacious, comfortable, clean and well-appointed, and bathroom is nice. The room was warm given the time of year, but equipped with a fan and the team were happy to provide use of their fridge since there is no longer an in-room fridge - so no issue. We liked having a small terrace, also great to be able to park right outside the room - parking is free and plentiful. No noise issues either from the pub itself or from neighbouring rooms overnight, which was a relief with two watchful spaniels! Food is good - decent choice and quality. Breakfasts are fantastic and set us up nicely for long days of walking! The inn is well located for local walks and just a short drive to Cheddar etc. We would recommend, and will be back!

It was a perfect stay for the night before our daughters wedding.

Stayed here on our way to st Ives to break the journey from York last week We enjoyed it so much we decided to stay on our way back from st Ives to York!! Once again we had a lovely relaxing overnight stay, lovely food and thanks to all the staff for looking after us.

What a find! Stayed at the swan to break our trip to st Ives. So pleased we did, the swan is a lovely building in a lovely setting, the staff quite honestly can’t do enough for you, our evening meal was really good and the full English that we both had was fantastic all in all I would recommend a stay at the swan without hesitation we are looking forward to visiting again soon
