Very clean, spruce and spacious room. Generally I prefer resident reception but we were given all the access information in good time for our evening arrival and it all worked perfectly. Cécile was present and most helpful in the mornings. I recommend taking the breakfast - fresh bread, delicious cake, jams from the island, fruit, yogurts and coffee/tea to taste - all for €10 pp. Not to be missed. If we go again - hope so - I'd chose a back bedroom. For some inexplicable reason the nightclubs on the square ejected patrons - French I'm afraid - at 4pm on a MONDAY night who roared at each other across the square outside. It seemed endless. Apparently there's a police number one can call for such delights but, well, we didn't. Centre ville and quayside La Rochelle are so close. Don't miss the free animal park in the leafy space up the sea road - giant donkeys, tiny goats and many many fowl. Sweet!

What a fantastic little find for our trip to La Rochelle. Everything we needed for a base. I didn't realise when booking, just how small the hotel was but that made it super personal as Cécile and Sarah took my phone number and relayed all the check in information over WhatsApp. It felt great knowing we had direct communication with someone and was a brilliant touch. The room was compact but had everything we needed for our stay; toiletries, TV, wifi and aircon. Breakfast was available for €10 but we didn't have to commit early on and we chose to go to the harbour. Staff were happy to offer suggestions which was great. Thanks for a lovely, very personal feeling stay in this beautiful part of France. We had an absolutely wonderful time. Helen & Steve

If there had been a lift, a fridge in the room and no steps into the hotel, it would be worth the price.

Loved everything about this hotel. It’s in a quiet location within minutes of the port, very modern interior in a quirky old building, super friendly staff and the views from the terrace are fabulous!
