We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful machiya in Kyoto. The home was comfortable, clean, full of character, and a really special place for our family to experience the city. What stood out most was the kindness and professionalism of the Tsumugi staff. When we made a mistake on our end during the stay, they handled the situation with patience, care, and grace. They were thoughtful, calm, and incredibly helpful, and we appreciated it very much. We’re grateful for their hospitality and highly recommended for anyone looking for a memorable traditional Kyoto stay with truly excellent service.

The property is in perfect condition for our family of four. Situated in a charming neighborhood, the property is within walking distance to JR Kyoto station and bus terminal. It's surrounded by restaurants and stores but you hear no noise at night at all. The considerate and helpful host has made our life much easier especially when we don't speak Japanese. I'd definitely come back next time in Kyoto.
