The gentleness and kindness of the staff make this place a truly unique experience

Staff were very friendly! Not sure if I missed it in the description, but the bathrooms are shared and in order to shower you need to book the onsen. By the time we got there all the times that worked for us were booked. The onsen was just a tiny little hot tub essentially in a depressing room-not really what I was hoping for. The soup served for breakfast was great! Overall, I wouldn’t stay again as I don’t like hostels, but if you do then this is an okay find.

Very atmospheric stay, great to experience a traditional ryokan. Hosts exceptionally friendly and helpful. Location quite convenient and walking distance from all of Hakone-Yumoto. You get to book a private 'onsen', although this would not be your typical onsen experience in Japan, closer to a basement jacuzzi. Excellent and relaxing and great to have such an option, but worth considering if you wanted the Japanese onsen experience. Also the private bathroom is actually shared between the three rooms, in case that is a dealbreaker.

Very clean and great atmosphere. Lovely amenities such as bath and yukatas. Overall a really quiet and scenic experience. Great for relaxing and getting away from the larger cities. Staff was also extremely kind with excellent burgers downstairs. Would love to visit again

Abbiamo prenotato per goderci una notte l’onsen e per spezzare il viaggio kyoto tokyo. Tutto sommato l’esperienza é stata positiva, lo stabile è in stile ostello quindi con ryokan privati ma bagno in comune, non è molto scomodo dato che le camere sono poche e i servizi molto puliti ed efficienti. Anche il ryokan molto carino (consigliato a coppie per le dimensioni della vasca termale). Molto carino il kimono che viene lasciato nelle camere. Unica nota negativa la colazione. Molto scarsa con cibi preconfezionati, molto “fai da te”

La struttura è un edificio storico in legno, con una camera ampia in pieno stile giapponese. Futon molto comodi. Possibilità di usufruire gratuitamente del loro onsen e di cenare in struttura dove fanno degli hamburger strepitosi. Colazione inclusa e in ogni camera sono forniti anche abiti tipici giapponesi

We received the warmest welcome from the owner. The room was big enough for 2. Just be aware that you share the bathroom with the other guests.

Beautiful guesthouse with a private onsen we could book. Aircon in the rooms gave it a modern take on a traditional style. Amazing location, so peaceful. Great facilities and the burgers downstairs were amazing!

We loved staying here! So much attention to detail and the hosts made us feel very welcomed. The soup and pastries were a lovely touch!

My friend and I stayed one night and wish we could stay for longer. Lovely staff, nice private onsen and there is a restaurant on the first floor and rooms are on the top floor, the restaurant is a bit pricey but food was delicious. Overall, wonderful stay, highly recommend.

Old building and very small, but charming and cosy. Enjoyed the hotspring bath and the burger restaurant, too.

This was more like a hostel and not a ryokan. Shared bathroom and toilets. We were informed about it the night before and given the option to cancel if we didn’t want that. However, our booking was non refundable within 24hrs of check in. We were not happy about it. They did not serve breakfast. They only gave some bread rolls in the room , we were expecting traditional Japanese breakfast at a place that calls itself ryokan. Their hot spring is not real natural hot spring. They have a hot bath what uses water procured from a hot spring and recirculated. We had to make our own beds . This is a traditional bed we had to make by putting the mattress on the floor and then using bedding etc. there was not help provided by the staff. If there was no staff at the restaurant downstairs then there was no staff on premises. The only good thing was the burgers they served downstairs were really good but very expensive!!

This little gem truly rocks! Close to the rail station, only 8 min walk. The property is a historical building, owned by a Geisha. Its a only 3 rooms facility. The onsen is great a plus to rest from a day of hiking. Couple things to be aware: bathroom is shared. Not a problem, at least in my case and i was a little aprehensive with this but, i didnt find an issue. The shower is in the onsen, so my advice, as soon as you arrive chose your time and put your room in the time you prefer, i did that and it worked great. The hotel is the same location of Burger Box, the best burger i ever tried! Dont miss the Matcha beer! Excellent place! The whole building is art!

Deuxième séjour dans cet hôtel. Je le recommande fortement si de passage sur Hakone. Le personnel est très gentil et serviable. Le onsen est un plus et permettra de vous relaxer. Je recommande également le restaurant qui sert de délicieux hamburger.
