My husband and I stayed for 5 nights at the end of May and overall really loved our stay, here is a brief breakdown:
PROS:
> very convenient proximity to Paddington station, only a 3-4 minute walk.
> There is a beautiful green park with huge trees right outside the front of the building
>has a true English vibe with smaller quarters and narrow stairs, quaint furnishings.
>staff were amazing! I loved that the front desk was open 24/7 for checking in and out. They also let us store our bags for several hours the last day so we could explore some more without carting around our luggage after checkout.
CONS:
> No air-conditioning (but is typical for here), given one fan and can open windows. This worked well for our stay during late spring but might be challenging during summer heat.
>Mobility challenges: the stairs are very narrow and can be dofficult to meneuver with big suitcases, DOABLE but be warned. If you have mobility issues make sure to discuss your room situation. We stayed on the 4th floor and even for my husband and I in our early 30's in decent shape it was a LOT of narrow stairs, became a long-standing joke while we were there.
>No fridge: not a make-or break for us, but I would have loved to be able to stick some leftovers/goodies we baught in a fridge once back.
Overall a pleasant place to stay for a shorter trip, convenient train station access and wanting to stay somewhere that isnt completely modernized that has some charm.
