The hotel staff are young, friendly, and vibrant; however, I wish the property were. It's a confusing place that resembles an old apartment complex. My bed was lumpy, and the room needed a touch-up paint job and more amenities, like a shower cap. Entering at night is strange. You enter through the garage, drive up to your floor, and enter a code to access your room. I needed to change my hotel dates, and although I am a Bonvoy member, the hotel did not want to change the dates, which were two months away, and instead wanted to keep my money. Two hours on the phone, to Boston, you can call the hotel directly, and a central argument, they agreed to change my reservation dates. Also, there is no mention of stairs. The second room I reserved had a flight of stairs to access the room. Luckily, a sweet staff member carried the bag for a friend who is disabled. However, the room was a two-bedroom suite and was intended for two people, so there were no room changes. The lobby staff are excellent, and had it not been for them, the experience would have been miserable.

We were really disappointed with this place. The only good part was the location. It was very bland for being remodeled in the last 2 years. Beach towels were hard to come by as the laundry service was not timely. No microwaves in the rooms. You have to use one in the lobby. We would not stay here again.

Unless your room specifically says ocean view, be prepared for a VERY dark room with tiny windows. The bed was also lumpy and unsupportive. Walls are pretty thin as well. Otherwise, it’s a fairly fine hotel.

It was near all shopping, restaurants and beach

Usually we love our stay here but I got room 207, and the road noise is pretty remarkable.

Though a "contact-less" system - from reservation to check in to check out - ilwe were happy to note that there's a live petson at the front desk to answer our concerns. The property is clean, inviting and well maintained. Lication is so ideal cuz it's accessible to beach (1 block away), restaurants etc. Downtown is walking distance... about 30 minutes leisurely walk.

Personnels sympathiques, hôtel très propre et bien situé. Lit confortable. Nous avons adoré.

I'm glad that I read some reviews prior to purchasing because it kept me aware of the simplicity of this hotel. I don't think the room was bad by any means but not an upscale hotel either. It's perfect for just being there to sleep and having a convenient place to stay in Laguna. I definitely think the 3rd floor recommendation was helpful because it had great views and the AC units weren't bad. I wish there were chairs on the balcony and that we got washcloths but otherwise it was fine.

Property was perfectly located for everything we wanted to to in Laguna Beach.

The check in process is very un user friendly. The property is beaten up. There’s virtually no front desk help at all. Marriott should dump this model… despite all these negatives, it’s an expensive property around 400$ per night. Never again for me!

Excellent location for an easy get around laguna beach.

Excellent spot right across from the beach. Older, revamped hotel to make your stay feel clean and modern. We did have a fire alarm blasting in the middle of the night which made us all leave the hotel and stand on the street at 3am, but other than that a pleasant and extremely affordable stay (guessing hotels.com price glitch, but hey, will take it!!)

The hotel is very well located, with places to eat nearby and the free tourist bus at the door that takes you from one end of Laguna Beach to the other. Check in is done fully online and you just arrive, park without contacting anyone and go to your room. Rooms are comfortable, not luxurious.

If you are going to stay on the first floor — beware. It's like an expensive prison. Bare walls, you feel like you are underground, the lights don't stay on, etc. The bed had crumbs in it. The side tables had a bunch of stains. I understand this hotel is one of a cheapest option for the Laguna area, but the establishment could put in just a *small* amount of effort to make the rooms nice. Will not be coming back.
