We liked everything, the room was spotless, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the breakfast was excellent and the parking was nice and easy

Ideal if you arrive in the UK late or are leaving the next morning. Entrance to room via a code given before arrival. Room very basic, but even my wife (who often complains about rooms being too small or uncomfortable) thought this a nice local hotel to stay. Pub below is a nice place to have dinner/breakfast. Personnel very friendly. We’ll go there again in the future

Nice location quiet out the way food is very reasonably priced. Breakfast is also nice. Wi-Fi is good free parking. The only thing for me is breakfast doesn’t start till eight and usually have to be at work by then apart from that no complaints.

The rooms were above a pub. There is no elevator and the stairs were steep. Once upstairs and in the room it was comfortable. The pub below served food for a cost. The food was very good. Breakfast was amazing.

We loved Royal Oak and the thoughtfully designed spaces. Our room was extremely clean and also had a very nice bathroom accommodation. We thoroughly enjoyed walking around the area, Kearsney Gardens and quick train to Dover area. The pub was fun and great food. We felt like locals by partaking in the Easter trivia night!! We knew this ahead of time and had no issues, but for your planning purposes-- the rooms are on the second floor above the pub area. Breakfast was very generous servings and great food. Staff assisted us with travel advice. We hope to visit again in the future.

Lovely little stop, shame no food was being served of an evening meant we had to drive out and find a decent pub which wasn't that easy. Room was lovely and clean mattress a little lumpy but good pillows. I did ask for a printed invoice as Hotels.com dont provide this with VAT which is a huge problem for business users. Places need to understand this and prepare VAT receipts also if you take one payment the receipt needs to be one not two.

Nice pub with good rooms

We were greeted with a big smile and enjoyed friendly service throughout our stay. Our room was clean, warm and very comfortable. Both our dinner and breakfast at Royal Oak were delicious and served with a smile :) I warmly welcome Royal Oak for any length of stay and will definitely visit again.

Very clean, lovely decor. Food great. Bed mattress a little well used and semi collapsed on one side. Not much parking.

Had a very enjoyable stay — the room was comfortable, and I slept well. The pub downstairs has a great vibe and friendly staff. I also really appreciated the helpfulness when I had some trouble getting into my room. Would definitely stay again!
