Baranof Lodge is centrally located and convenient for walking anywhere in downtown Sitka. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and had been updated. The heat unit, however, had only one temperature, hot. No matter how you turn the knob to low heat, or even cool, the temp remained hot. This was great for warming the room up when it was cold. But it was not great during the night when the unit made it too hot to sleep, and then, if you turn it off, the room became too cold. I notified the front desk person, and they said they would have it fixed. No doubt that happened after I left. I was pleased that there were ample towels and washcloths. The internet worked well. It was a fine stay other than the heat unit.

It is well situated. We arrived after a long day travelling and the receptionist was helpful. Rooms clean and had everything we needed.

Nice rooms and conveniently located

My room was on the bottom floor and smelled musty like there had been a leak in the room, the curtains had to be drawn the whole time because there are multiple food trucks right outside my window selling donuts and food to locals.

Staff was very attentive

This is an older property that is showing the wear. The beds were ok but not great. The bathroom was fine. The carpet in the room felt damp and the room had a dankness to it. The shuttle to the airport was reliable and convenient.

Very friendly staff, great location for us. And the room was clean and comfortable.

The property was centrally located. They had coffee available in the morning along with a variety of quick breakfast items for purchase.

Room was way overpriced. Should have been in the $120 range, less than half what was paid. Very simple, no frills motel.
