We were so pleased to finally stay at the Windmill we’d first seen on Villages by the Sea and again from the North Norfolk Railway. It’s a remarkable building, and you can really appreciate how much care and investment must go into maintaining it. We received a warm welcome on arrival and were very well looked after at breakfast each morning. Sadly, our stay didn’t coincide with any of the evenings when dinner is served, but the village has several good alternatives in the village (limited selection on Mondays). We had a great view, especially when a thunderstorm passed over. The Windmill proved a perfect base for exploring North Norfolk. Our ground‑floor room was comfortable, though not always fully private, as a couple of passing walkers stopped to look in through the window. Parking was also a little tight when we arrived, with only one space left, though this isn’t something the Windmill controls. Overall, a memorable and unique place to stay, full of character and charm.

Fantastic location with lovely views across marshes. Staff welcoming and friendly. Room different to normal but in a positive way! Stayed in Miller room which was part of the actual windmill. Room spacious and comfortable. No problem with parking. Breakfast good. Overall definitely recommend.

Myself and my Husband have just returned from a 2 night stay in the Stone Room at Cley Windmill and we cannot recommend it highly enough. The room was well appointed, beautifully finished and the private balcony was such a wonderful bonus with amazing views. The staff were lovely and the whole building from reception, to the breakfast room, to the gardens have been beautifully presented and are clearly well looked after. You could hear a little creaking from people in the room above and the ladder to their bedroom but it was minimal (and expected - in such an old building). My only concern before staying was whether the other half of the balcony (accessible by all guests at the mill) would be outside the window to our room but this was note the case and all doors/windows to our room were only overlooked by our private balcony. Highly recommend the Blakeney/Cley Circular Walk and meals out in the evening at The Three Swallows and the George and the Dragon pubs. So much to see and do locally on foot. We had a really wonderful stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend- or return!

Loved our stay at Cley Windmill, what a special place to stay. Very comfy room, delicious breakfast and perfect for access to nearby walks and beaches!

Parking was was and free and very close to the entrance. The room was very clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The chef cooked a very tasty breakfast. I would recommend staying at Cley Windmill and enjoy the beautiful countryside.

Best location

The converted windmill is very nice looking and well fitted out. Car parking is easy in the private car park. The rooms are lovely and the breakfast well cooked and substantial. The staff are excellent - very helpful and attentive, with good local advice.

A special place just bursting with character. I stayed in the old cart shed which was spacious and well equipped. The breakfast was luxurious and delicious. The only negative thing i can say is that wasnt a vegetarian choice on the evening set menu.

This was one of the most unique places I have ever stayed. A beautiful, well equipped room with a great view of the marshes. We stayed on a Sunday and booked a hamper for tea. It was so delicious! I highly recommend Cley Windmill as a great place to stay in a lovely place\

Extremely enjoyable short break. Quality of rooms very luxurious . Staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast. The location is exceptional. Very peaceful and quiet. You really feel you are somewhere "wild" but with all the home comforts. Intend to return later in the year. The street food truck that visited was excellent too.
