Booked for parents to celebrate fathers 80th. Accomadated a last minute change to more accessible room and late afternoon food. They both really enjoyed stay and could not say enough about quality of staffing and overall experience!

Excellent location, service and all round quality.

A real mix. Food in the Brasserie was outstanding, breakfast was reasonable, the bar is lovely, the building and location are superb, breakfast and restaurant staff lovely. But it's unusual to find an upmarket hotel where the reception staff are more interested in the tip than in being friendly, and can't relate the two. Front of house staff at other high-end hotels usually smile or say hello when guests walk in. Not at the Devonshire Arms. WiFi not connecting on my laptop? "Try standing in the corridor." What's this £30 extra on my bill? "It's service charge, it's in the Ts & Cs," delivered with a challenging, sour look. Clearly the twee tweed waistcoats don't represent luxury service or even politeness. Otherwise it's rather nice.

6 people stayed in our group. Disappointing that we were charged £25 per couple for early check-in. Even as it was only 30 minutes before normal check in. Reception was not up to speed with our bookings as we had pre-paid for everything but when we checked out they got mixed up and printed bill for full amount. Until we very politely informed them. Also whilst good range of breakfast delights very slow service

The room was tidy and clean, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful when we arrived early and placed our case in the room when if was ready. My wife really enjoyed the spa which is located a short walk across the road from the hotel. We would have preferred an self service open buffet style continental breakfast

A beautiful stay in a beautiful location. The spa treatment I had was the best I've ever had! My only niggles were the 2 hour wait for breakfast without any explanation or apology and the Cocktail lounge was more like a waiting room. Maybe move the newspapers to the smaller lounges as 'reading rooms'?

We have stayed with you a number of times over the last 25 years. Also eaten in the Brasserie more often. The room was a little tired didn’t feel the treat I remembered. The staff were fabulous as always. Think some corners are being cut such a shame. We will come again

The room is lovely. The evening meal was great but breakfast took so long that we had to leave without eating. They also sent me an invoice via email for the cost of the bed and breakfast even tough it was paid in full when I booked the stay weeks before

Stayed here a few times 10+ years ago and we decided to come back for a nostalgic trip Still an amazing location bud sadly has gone a little downhill or maybe other hotels have upped the game since Rooms could do with renovating, food was good but pricey and breakfast was a bit average too sadly to what it was when it had a fine dining restaurant Lost the magic touch it used to have of accommodating staff too, it was mid week so maybe the key people were off that day We didn't have a dog this time but I imagine if you do it makes it a more appealing hotel
