The location of this hotel is wonderful, and the restaurant appears top notch, however we stayed in a very small room on the third floor, with no elevator. It is a very old property without recent renovation. The room was small and had sloped ceilings on two sides, which was not comfortable for my 6’2” companion.
The shower stall was right in the room itself, with zero privacy other than a thin cloth screen. The toilet was in its own closet with a door. The floors were linoleum that was at least 40 years old.
The view of the city from the window was terrific, and the bed was comfortable, but I don’t think I would recommend this hotel to others. There was very little in terms of front desk support (there literally is no front desk), and no one was available until 3 pm, so we had to store our luggage ourselves in an unattended, multi-purpose room/closet in the second floor. The staff we did run into were very nice, but it wasn’t clear who was restaurant versus hotel staff.,
