The concierge was a great guy! The value was very low. $200 per night in an old and dusty room with dirty towels was not my idea of a romantic birthday present.

Nice and quiet ! There's a small creek at the side of the room and that's the only sounds I could hear , " a gurgling brook " , just perfect !

Gold River has a super remote location, right in the middle of fantastic mountains. The motel has a mountain movie-like ambience for its setting. Very basic motel, cheap and cheery.

I always enjoy staying at the hotel when i go up.

Pretty rough. Linens and furnishings were really old and thrift store quality. Floor was sticky. Breakfast was self serve using shared jam and peanut butter containers and dishes were not clean. Furnishings were sticky. No room service tidying during stay. One room had no soap or shampoo in containers. Stairs are uneven and tripping hazard.

We gad a good stay

The rooms could use a bit of refreshing, but ours was very clean and everything worked just fine. Very quiet location with flowers and other nice touches that made the place look attractive and well-cared-for. The breakfast room is nicely renovated. Breakfast choices were a bit limited-- I remember muffins, bagels, bread, cold cereal, instant oatmeal, plus coffee and tea-- and the fridge and sink were not very clean. Overall, we would recommend, and would stay here again.
