Unfortunately the room requested was not available as we had our small dog with us so were allocated a dog friendly room which was fine but it only had a 4’6 bed which really is not expected these days. Following the downgrading of the room by the hotel and being advised that the room requested would be cheaper. The new price unfortunately was not honoured despite numerous requests for a refund so overall not the best experience.

Located near ferry, restaurants nearby, bed needs replaced

Staff were exceptional.

While dinner was excellent, breakfast was bizarre and staff encouraged by management to offer a slow, “leisurely” experience. The issue was that we were on a set timeline in order to make our morning tour and, upon being prompted by the menu, let our server know we had an hour to dine. She let us know it would likely “be a while longer” if we ordered hot food, but then proceeded to serve every other table’s breakfast made-to-order within ten minutes. We decided to forego hot breakfast items and then sat in silence as the servers and chef chuckled about our perceived impatience.

Lovely large room that has that Victorian feel. Beautiful property and a lovely sitting room to enjoy an afternoon cocktail. Be aware that transportation on the Isle of Wight seems to be limited. Primary source of transportation is via bus. Restaurants are a bit of a hike to get too, however, the hotel restaurant is very good. Great location for the Osborne House as it is right around the corner & is a must see.

I found the history and and overall ambience of the hotel just excellent

We liked the historical charm. The brekfast choice is excellent. It is being restored so some allowance must be made.

Peaceful & quiet

Wonderful original Victorian decor. Some of the best cuisine that I have ever tasted. Delicious, generous breakfast. Lovely gardens. A short walk to Osborne house. Fabulous.
