We had an ace time at La Foundation for my wife's birthday. The staff were really welcoming and helpful and the facilities were excellent. We'll definitely be staying there again next time we're in Paris.

The room initially looked beautifully curated and moody, but was very cold when we returned around midnight, and the non‑backlit temperature panel in the already dim space meant using a phone torch to operate basic heating. Once the heating and ventilation were switched off, a relentless, loud ventilation noise made sleep almost impossible. No one answered our two late‑night calls to the “24‑hour” front desk, so my spouse had to go down in person, where staff admitted there was a known ventilation issue and offered only to move us, in the middle of the night, to a smaller room with a smaller bed on the seventh floor. The next morning, no one proactively followed up; when we raised the issue, reception first tried to normalise the noise by citing French regulations, then changed their tone only after we played them a recording and they acknowledged the problem was known on the first and second floors. Instead of meaningful recovery—such as waiving our €90 fee for late checkout or offering breakfast—service felt performative, including small talk about whether I worked in fashion, which implied treatment might depend on a guest’s perceived status. We were ultimately given a business card with a handwritten email and told to “send an email”, while the hotel continues to sell affected rooms as “soundproofed”. Other small details, like a poorly sealed shower door that floods the bathroom floor, reinforce the impression of style over basic comfort.

The property is beautiful and we loved that we had a spacious room (the Executive room), with coffee and creamer. Bed wasn’t amazing but fine. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the underground pool and sauna, steam facilities were really lovely. Almost like a sauna house. Rooftop bar was also great but would benefit from serving food as well as drinks.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! THIS IS A 1 STAR MOTEL. THIS IS NOT ONLY THE WORST HOTEL IN PARIS, FRANCE. THIS IS THE WORST HOTEL IN THE ENTIRE WORLD. The hotel has fake information on both their website and on the Hotels.com website. It is a total SCAM. I have never had a worse experience at a hotel in my entire life. This hotel has the worst service, it smells like a sewer, it has the most disgusting dirtiest rooms, (see photos) and the hotel lies on their website about the size of the rooms. Nothing works in the hotel room and even if you ask directly to the GM to simply make the lights work they ignore every request. They also lie about the size of the rooms on their website and on the Hotels.com website. I have never had to write a review like this before. Save your Time, and your money. I only stay at 5 star hotels with Hotels.com with a 9+ exceptional rating and I was scammed into booking this hotel. This hotel was advertised as a 5 star hotel! This is a one star motel, if that. It is dirty, the rooms are dark and tiny, and they are so small that it is impossible to even walk around the tiny queen bed to even get to what they call a Bathroom, which is impossible for even one person to fit in in their combination toilet/shower. The “General Manager”, is trash and completely incompetent. We brought all of the issues to her attention very politely on AFTER OUR arrival, hoping that something could at least be cleaned or fixed, and everything was completely ignored.
