My stay at Traxx Hotel was cut short by new owners who decided to sack all the staff and demand the guests leave, only telling us the evening before that we'd need to be out by 0930 the next morning. The lovely receptionist, Wendy, made sure to find new accommodation for everyone despite having just lost her job, but since neither she nor any of the others who made my brief stay good are there any more, I can only advise to avoid this place whether it opens under a new name or stays the same once renovations are complete. You might not get what you paid for (or a refund, which I still haven't received!)

Didn’t get to stay there!! Hotel closed down and no advice from Expedia, until well after we should have booked in and then phone calls early in morning !!

I expected a budget Hotel and the price for the area and time of the year was good. The bathroom was too small. If you were bigger than myself (UK men size XL) you wouldn’t have been able to sit on the toilet as it was too close to the Shower cubicle. There was no soap or a spare toilet room in the bathroom. I went to ask for both but the reception had closed by 7pm. In a Hotel I expect a manned reception throughout my staff. I would say that this is a Guest House as opposed to a Hotel. The room clearly hadn’t been deep cleaned in a while. The room badly needed updated. On the plus side the bed was comfy and I slept very well

Room not clean

I expected this hotel not to be too great, with only the one photo, but it was worse than I expected. The bed was a mattress that the springs threatened to break through the covering. The bathroom was unhealthy if anything. When showering the shower door would leak water towards the toilet which the tile linoleum, was already peeling away. Once the water hit the area, all one could smell was urine. We’ve stayed a not so nice hotels, but why this hotel is even recommended by Hotel.com begs me to question confidence in this website.

Perfectly nice place to stay. Staff was friendly. Breakfast was really good.

The hotel was easy to find, being opposite the Railway Station and therefore an easy walk into the city centre. Car parking on site. There was no noise from the road outside and I could see the sea in the distance from my bedroom. Excellent cooked breakfast !

Close to station

I stayed here for one night on a professional trip to Bangor. I called before I drove down to ask about parking and arrival etc, the lady I spoke to was very helpful. Nice friendly welcome from the chap on reception (Kits) who chatted to me about what I was doing in town. Small comfortable room which was perfect for a short stay. I'd stay here again especially at the price I paid.

My girlfriend and I recently booked a one-night stay at the Traxx Hotel, and we were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. We were particularly grateful for their willingness to store some of our luggage even after we had checked out, which was a huge convenience for us. The rooms themselves were spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The reception staff were also outstanding. Even after what seemed to be their closing time, they were still available and happy to assist us with our luggages. The location of the Traxx Hotel is absolutely perfect. Being situated just outside Bangor station, it was incredibly easy to find and access – you can literally see the hotel from the station! This made our arrival and departure completely stress-free. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at the Traxx Hotel. The helpful staff, clean rooms, and unbeatable location make it an excellent choice for anyone visiting Bangor. We would definitely recommend it and will certainly consider staying here again on future trips.

Freindly staff close to train station at bangor and there is a bus stop to town right outside hotel or its a five minute walk to town

The hotel is very dated. Whilst it was actually clean, it looked grimey. I checked in but went straight out, returning late at night. After I returned at night, I noticed that the room only had 1 plug socket, but a 4 gang extention lead was provided. Unfortunately, this didn't work. Therefore anything electrical needed to be plugged into this one socket which was behind the bed. I was unable to make a cup of tea as the only way to boil the kettle was for it to sit on the bed. I reported this in the morning, asking for pot of tea and a pot of porridge to be made. The manageress did this for me but there was no apollogy for the inconvenience. The dinning room also had an extremely large animal cage with a parrot in the corner. How this is acceptable I don't know. Overall my experience was rubbish with no acknowledgement from the management. Really poor.

Great budget friendly hotel, local to where we wanted to visit. Very friendly staff, clean and tidy rooms and the breakfast was beautiful

The hostess was absolutely lovely, she couldn’t have done anymore for us. She went out of our way to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. I’d highly recommend!

Thiught the stay was good although the bar was shht when i arrived back about 10 30pm was not really happy but staff were friendly and the hotek was clean breakfast was,good too

Great all round

right next to the train station and bus stops, it's very conveniant if you need a place to stay while exploring Snowdonia. The guest was very accommodating for late arrival, too.
