From the outside the property looked a bit tired but on entering we loved the friendly warm welcome. The ambiance in the bar and dining areas was so lovely and the choice of food really great - it was truly appetising! Wonderful stay - we’ll certain stay again if we’re in the area.

First time here for me. I will certainly be staying again. Friendly owners, a family run business. A nice pint and great food. I was in room 3 which was clean and comfortable. All was fairly priced.

What friendly staff!!! Everyone was so helpful and chatty. Lovely menu with daily specials, chef's specials and normal pub grub. Nice atmosphere too as it is down a country lane, but locals were eating and drinking there. Will stay there again the next time we are in the areaQ

Great dog friendly hotel. Fantastic rooms that lead straight onto the garden area. Perfect with 2 doggies. Rooms are basic but large and clean.

Easy access from the car park to our room. Room clean and met our needs. However, we would have preferred to have booked a room with a normal shower, rather than.

Used as a base for a Quantocks run. Staff were really friendly and helpful as I had an early start. Recommended

We stayed for 1 night and the inn was wonderful. All the staff were lovely and really helpful. Our room was lovely and clean. There is food onsite which was excellent. We had an evening meal and breakfast the next day both were excellent. We would definitely stay there again. Thankyou to Julie abd your team for making us feel so welcome

Staff were cheerful & welcoming. Our room was a good size and very clean. Bed was a good size and comfy. Evening meal was nicely presented, reasonably priced and tasty. All in all a very pleasant one night stay.

Family run and friendly, Anthony was very welcoming. Spacious rooms and pub offers a varied food menu. Quiet location and ideal for exploring the surrounding area.

Our stay at the malt shovel was good ,we only spent one night there , food was lovely, the pub was lovely and quiet with friendly staff thst make you feel very welcome , our room was a nice size with tea,coffee ,water, biscuits provided , the bed was comfortable , room was clean with towels left on the bed ,will definitely book again .

This was our 2nd stay in 3 months, and we can't fault it! Rooms lovely and clean, and food (Sunday lunch) was fantastic value.
