Lovely stay in well situated location with fab staff

The food was out of this world, presentation, taste and service in the restaurant. Spoke to staff and the Chef after my meal and the passion for the food and the standards was evident. I will 100% recommend and stay again.

What an amazing hotel the Psalter is. We only stayed for one night but from the moment we arrived, we were greeted with the exceptional hospitality from the staff. Breakfast was extremely great value for money with high quality ingredients. We would definitely return to The Psalter and recommend it.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. I was offered tea brought to my room on arrival. The bar was closed for one night of my stay, but I was advised the day beforehand. That wasn’t an issue at all. The location was great. Lovely local areas. Plenty of cafes and restaurants and walks nearby. Bus stop direct to the station right outside the hotel a real bonus! My room was light and comfortable. The shower base was not draining well and it did smell a bit. A lady cleaner had noted this as we met in passing and said it was on her list to pass on. So no need for me to me to mention. Enjoyed my stay. Thanks to all.

Wonderful l I cannot speak to the location in general, since it was walking distance to our family and quite convenient in that respect for my needs.

Bed a bit hard but overall a pleasant room. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We just stopped the one night, customer service and room were good. If I'm in the area in the near future, I would happily book again.

Lovely rooms to a high standard though heating was on full so very very hot. Lovely bar area and food was top notch too.

What a great hotel. Can't say enough positive things about my experience. Room was lovely, clean, good value, great location and ambience, but the service and food were even better. I had early starts both mornings of my stay and it was not too much bother for Helen on the front desk and Paul?, the chef to open the kitchen slightly early for me. The food was wonderful and good value and Helen couldn't have been more helpful. This is what an independent hotel / restaurant should be like. Thanks to the team for a wonderful stay. I'll be back.

The stay at the Psalter Hotel was an extraordinary experience. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and professional. We felt welcomed into a family rather than a Hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. The food, the cleanliness and cosiness of the rooms were all first class. There was an added ingredient which made this hotel stand out from others.., a chef that made the most delicious focaccia, eggs royal and vegan breakfasts. The creative flare in the decor and displays, a Halloween theme was marvellously original… This little hotel gives any guest a little piece of heaven …. Thank you to everyone for making our stay so wonderfully special… we will definitely return. Yvonne and Sharon

First time at Hotel in UK. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Would stay at Psalter again in the future if needed.

We booked a small double room and were really surprised at how big it was. The room was spacious and well maintained with plenty of clothes hanging space and a lovely modern en suite.It was spotlessly clean and plenty of tea and coffee supplied. A really comfy bed/pillows and also a tv. We pre booked breakfast of which there was a good choice and the full english was delicious. We didn't eat from the evening menu as we were attending a wedding, but a couple we spoke with at breakfast said that the food was amazing!. The staff were very polite and friendly. We parked in the car park around the back of the hotel where there was plenty of space.I would definitely stay at the Psalter again.
