My room was fine but my friends room was more cramped and only had a skylight rather than a window. My bathroom had an unusual shower with no instructions on how to operate it though the staff were helpful in showing me how it worked. The towels were on a high shelf which was difficult for me to reach. There was only a full breakfast option so if you only wanted a limited breakfast eg just toast or croissants you still had to pay the full cost which made it rather expensive. The cost was fine if you wanted the whole English experience .I was surprised that the rooms were not serviced daily given the cost of the rooms. However the rooms had good mirrors at a sensible level ( important if you are not tall). The staff were all very approachable and helpful so all in all had an enjoyable stay.

Good hotel, friendly staff, great food and bar. Just need a bot of attention to detail in the room. Hot water for shower is impossible to set, and ceiling fan didn't wirk in 30° heat. Otherwise a decent place

Such a great location in order to see the town. No lift, but staff very prepared to help. Staff always friendly and helpful. Food marvellous and great value

ok for a nights rest on a road trip

very tired room, hard to get around the bed, bad smell in the bathroom. lots of plugs sockets dont work. Great location to the town.

Perfect service. Arrived early to check bags in. Room was ready. Bonus to check in early.

Hotel bar was nice. Stairs were difficult as someone partially sighted as not well lit. The beds were awful. Could feel the springs in the mattress so no one got a good nights sleep unfortunately. Shower was like a trickle. Was OK, but not worth £100 a night!!

We were looking for a characterful hotel in the middle of Melton Mowbray and that is what we got for a very reasonable tarif. Our rooms had recently been refurbished and although smallish were perfectly okay for our short stay. Easy free parking behind the hotel.

Very pleasant helpful staff

The room was not cleaned properly, towels grey, carpets not hoovered window ledges dusty could write your name in, frames wrotten and windows didn't close properly. To top it all we was there from Thursday evening untill Sunday morning had no cold water, toilet didnt flush no shower, absolutley abysmal. When aproached owner staff just kept saying they were sorting it and it was a problen on second floor gravity led water? They did not offer a discount terrible way to run a business we have been using this hotel for years, but will not be anymore.

For early April the room was cold,the light weight duvet was not enough, generally note what i expected.

I only stayed one night & didn’t have breakfast so I can’t comment on the food. Check in & out was quick & efficient & the staff were very friendly. Room was on the small side but adequate. Bathroom was clean, modern & included a bath. I would definitely stay here again.

Was allocated to a room which should have been closed for refurbishment. Did get moved when I went down to reception. Single pane glass windows so could hear absolutely everything from the street outside and also let in a lot of cold. Shower pressure was absolutely minimal, the “shower gel” provided was hand soap, towels looked dirty. Had booked breakfast at check in. Went down in the morning and no one was there serving. The guy claimed he hadn’t been told that there was someone coming for breakfast so no cooked options but he was still happy to charge me full price

Location was fabulous, right in the center of town. Overall room was fine for one night but smoke alarms went off twice during the night and we had no phone in the room to call front desk to make sure all was okay. Shower had no power, water trickled out slowly, no where to unpack clothes in room which would have been an issue if staying for a few nights.

Property was good spacious huge bar/ Restaurant area

This was a short overnight stay. The hotel is very clean with ground floor being a large public bar with new function suite and Indian food offer to rear. Theres a fair sized old fashioned restaurant too. Rooms are clean and well maintained, lovely full English breakfast served quickly . Very polite owner and staff - all in all good value

Only Stayed because P Inn was full! wish we hadn't bothered tbh

Wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was a very nice hotel pub! Literally opposite the train station in Melton Mowbray and a very short walk away from the town high street. Very clean, a great sleep and well priced. 10/10!
