Spotlessly clean hotel, really good breakfast, good value.

Very nice weekend in July 25. Hotel owner was very friendly as were his staff. Room was modern and clean, the whole hotel was spotless. The breakfasts were good. We would stay there again

Good location for the locality and for routes along the coast. Very clean rooms with good amenities. Excellent breakfast. Pleasant and helpful staff.

Cleanliness is exceptional with the whole hotel freshly painted, neat and crisp. Some small problems too minor to even mention.

Don’t let the colour of outside put you off inside is like a 5 star hotel from the moment you walk through the door every thing has been redecorated to the highest standard and quality we have stayed in a lot of hotels and this is one of the best ever . The owner and all staff were so helpful and obliging and I would definitely stay there again and recommend this hotel to anyone

We stayed for 4 nights between Christmas and Nee Year. All of the staff were lovely and so accommodating. We had a dog with us, who was welcome in all areas of the hotel. We food is delicious lots of choices for breakfast and main meals. Cannot wait to book to stay again.

Great for wedding accommodation by The Tunnels Beaches. Staff are friendly

The room is large and clean with a nice size shower. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows and other nice amenities like coffee and television, refrigerator table and chairs, etc. it also had a nice fan. What I didn’t like is a parking was very tight we were fortunate on both of our nights stay to find a spot right in front of the hotel but I suppose if we come a bit later, we would’ve had to struggle to find a place nearby.

My mother and I had a very enjoyable 3 night stay at the Carlton Hotel, all the staff were very hospitable and could not do enough for us throughout our stay. We spoke to other returning guests whilst we were there and can see why they do so as the hotel was all that we required. I can see why it has such good reviews. The food each night in the restaurant was superb and the service too. I would definitely return if I was to visit Ilfracombe or this area again.

The hotel was exactly what I was looking for. Somewhere quiet but not to far from the water. The food was very good but the service for dinner was very slow and they forgot to ask me if I wanted a dessert. However, TBH they were very full and everyone seemed very young and inexperienced apart from the bar man. Breakfast had a lot to offer and most likes seemed to be well catered for. I love dogs but am allergic. I was a little worried before I arrived but there was nothing to worry about at all. If there had ever been a dog in my room then there was no sign at all. The room was excellently cleaned and the bed was enormous. The shower was excellent too with a lot of water pressure and enough hot water. I will go there again

The hotel is very clean and looked to have been recently renovated. The breakfast staff were friendly and very efficient with a good variety of hot and cold breakfast available. Unfortunately there are building works across the road which are noisy. I would recommend a room upgrade as our room was very small.
