This was our third stay at The Ragged Cot and we always have a lovely time. Its position is so convenient to visit many lovely places and has good on site, safe parking. Nice cosy atmosphere with nice bar and restaurant and loads of outside areas to sit. Rooms are basic but ample, the only issue is that the bathrooms are beginning to look very tired and surprisingly there was only 2 tiny complimentary soaps - no shower/body wash or shampoo. Beds are very comfy. Staff are very attentive and friendly at all times

The room was spacious and comfortable, the staff was warm and welcoming, the drinks in the pub were fantastic (as were the other patrons).

Room 7 extractor fan not working. Both windows can’t be propped open. No mirror over desk so hairdryer cannot be plugged in near a mirror. Shower floods bathroom floor. All staff tried hard but were overstretched. At breakfast many things were only available if asked for. Evening meals not good value for money. This is not a 4 star hotel.

Very clean, quiet, nicely decorated room. Staff were friendly and it was a good breakfast - with pastries, Yoghurt and a full English on offer as well as smaller plates like eggs Benedict. We were expecting a larger/cosier bar area for drinks on arrival - but assume tables were all laid a d taken for Xmas parties

A lovely place to stay, room was lovely, evening meal was lovely, breakfast was lovely and the staff were lovely

It was a very comfortable and cosy room, friendly and obliging staff, pleasant bathroom. Would use again.

Wonderful stay! Welcoming, comfortable, very clean and delicious breakfast. Quiet location. Plenty of parking. Felt very safe for a solo traveller

Shower and sink were blocked water didn’t drain away quickly enough and the bathroom floor was one big puddle. Breakfast table was so sticky the cutlery was actually stuck to the table. Table was dirty from diners the night before. I could go on but to be honest very average.

Dinner in the pub was great. Cooked breakfast was served very quickly and was fantastic. As a surveyor, is say that extract fan not working in the ensuite to Room 4 will mean that the room will get a musty smell if not sorted. Would come back certainly. B

Good location and very friendly, our room was hot, but in fairness so was the weather. Breakfast well cooked and presented

We needed accommodation after attending a wedding nearby . We were able to drop by in the morning and collect a key to let ourselves in later on as we were going to arrive late at night after reception closed. The lady who showed us how to let ourselves in was also working in the breakfast room the next morning and was very friendly and efficient. Breakfast was delicious and perfectly cooked and presented. We had a very comfortable night's sleep and a lovely shower with nice thick fluffy towels. Will definitely come back next time to try their lunch menu as the outside gardens looked lovely

Good location for a few days visiting the area. Good size room and shower room. Drawback being just how noisy ground floor room was. Could hear everything from the room above along with traffic passing close by
