Clean comfortable room, friendly helpful staff. Recommended.

Staff were very pleasant, friendly and exceptionally helpful. The decor in the room was beautiful and it was very clean with plenty of tea making facilities including ‘proper’ mugs and a teapot with tea cosy which was a lovely extra. However the room was very, very small and it did not have any drawers or wardrobe to store clothes (there was a small rail in the corner with four hangers to hang a few items). The en-suite was also very small but it was supplied with lovely White Company toiletries. The cooked breakfast was beautiful and piping hot. There were also lots of other hot food options as well as cereals, yoghurts, breads. All in all a lovely place to stay, with fantastic staff and when I return I will ask for a larger room.

Six of us doing the Way of the Roses cycle route stayed a night at the Golden Lion. The rooms were large and comfortable, nice decor, excellent shower and toiletries. We had a delicious evening meal, and were impressed by the breakfast choices. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and accommodated our bikes overnight.

Great for dogs and their human companions. Lots of attention to detail here, like comfy bedrooms with luxury blankets and snacks/beverages. Breakfast excellent. Staff friendly and welcoming. We loved it and our Golden Retriever was spoiled rotten.

Nice room & goodies for our dog. Accommodated gluten free allergy. Room was quiet. Good to have real milk in room for drinks, makes a big difference.

Staff were amazing - we arrived slightly later and they found us a table and served us a dinner in double quick time - the wine was excellent too. Room was as expected for a country inn in Settle. Breakfast was good too.

The room was lovely, bathroom wasn’t as clean as it could’ve been and the hot water at the sink was dangerously hot. The shower was great though, really powerful. The bed was comfortable and we both slept really well. The breakfast was nice but small portions for the full English. I think the jars of jam etc are a bit of a waste, maybe some smaller tubs might be better. All the staff were amazing, friendly and good service.

Highly recommended - full of character and tastefully styled rooms - excellent restaurant and bar dining in a ‘local pub’ setting. Pay& Display parking nearby (or use the Settle Social Club car park reduced rates) - well worth a visit to this charming community

Central position lovely hotel. Room Attractive decor, clean and comfy bed. Tea/ coffee & water supplied. However it was a Very warm evening and a little noisy as room over overlooked courtyard. Food and drinks rather expensive, menu traditional but really nice. We would stay again if in the area.

Excellent breakfast

We stayed at the Golden Lion with friends as we were walking the 3 peaks on the Friday, we both stayed in a classic room, the rooms were lovely, comfy bed, hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner, tea and coffee and bottled water, don't forget to ask for milk before bed. We ate in the restaurant both nights, the food was lovely and we had great service. We had asked for breakfast the morning of our walk as we had to leave at half 6, unfortunately they forgot to leave out any bread or bowls for cereal, which was a bit disappointing. We had the full breakfast on the Saturday morning which was delicious and again the service was great. Would definitely recommend
