Great adequate room. Lovely rain shower. Good large tv. The establishment was short staffed everywhere although those on duty were constantly apologetic and certainly exceeded in customer service. Well done everyone.

Very welcoming, brilliant breakfast, comfortable rooms with plenty of hot water. Probably could have done with a couple more staff working.

Another good stay here, breakfast is OK bar of an evening is typically busy. Room was a bit tired and could do with a bit of a refurbishment other wise it’s a well positioned place to spend the weekend

I had a great stay at the white horse. I was made to feel very welcome and the room was of a good size. I had a really good sleep in the comfortable bed and would definitely return. I can’t believe how little I paid for such a great experience. I’ve paid double the amount and not had such a nice room. I really think they are selling their rooms at too cheap a price!

Bit of a palaver at check-in when they thought initially I hadn’t paid, but soon sorted out. Good bar staff and food, and breakfast was cooked skilfully and hot. More confusion over my breakfast being included in my price, which again was sorted but special mention to Monique at breakfast service who is clearly a credit to Greene King, not only sorting my issues but also imparting good information on the surrounding area.

Nice easy check in, plenty of parking… Nice bar with plenty of entertainment

Perfect for my business trip clean with friendly staff throughout

Comfy bed and accommodation ok for one night. Lots of stairs.

Great one night stop. Large, clean room. Restaurant was quick and food well cooked.

Lovely friendly staff, room clean and comfortable and warm as outside was freezing!

Overall it was absolutely fine. The reason I down scored on the service was to do with an issue I had. The bathroom was freezing cold so I asked about how to turn the heated towel rail on. The answer I got was “don’t know, do t think it’s ever worked” so I asked if there was anybody that could have a look and was simply told nobody was working.

Allowed to get room early at no extra charge which was a bonus. Unlike last time I needed to book in early as I wanted to get to the football. She was adamant I needed to pay £20 Even though the room was ready. which was a bit steep. So obviously I didn't take. When I came back in the evening she was very busy and had to keep people waiting in order to sort my room. Lot less hassle if she had just given me my room.

Not suitable for mobility issues with stairs at property. Strong smell of weed coming from a staff only room too which was sickening every time I walked past it!

Lovely clean room really spacious

The staff were friendly and the rooms clean and comfortable. The parking is not the best. Very tight spaces and limited, especially when there is a function on. We couldnt hear any noise from the function room or the pub when we stayed which is a bonus. Food at the bar / restaurant was really good. Overall a pleasant stay.

There was a knotted collection of hair on one of our pillows, the room had a really odd odour, and with the room on the first floor facing out onto the main road / pavement there wasn’t much privacy. This particular room could definitely do with a net curtain as well as the main curtains. We had the window open to keep the room cool but with the breeze blowing the curtains, it did feel like there was a lack of privacy, and felt a bit exposed to the street / main road. We chose this hotel as it looked to be the best value in this area, but we’d have been better off paying a bit more for one of the other hotels unfortunately.
