Room was decent and clean, food and beer were good

Was a lovely hotel / pub, I had a nice reading nook window which overlooked the field (room 4), and the whole place was spotless. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Excellant cosy olde world pub. Good food for dinnrr and breakfast. Just outside Exeter so ideal stop over. Can recommend to other visitors. Quiet situation comfy bed clean room

Wonderful place to stay and great staff

We have stayed here on previous occasions and would definitely recommend. The staff are always helpful and friendly. Our room was immaculately clean and despite being above the bar area was very quiet. Excellent breakfast and varied evening menu. All cooked to perfection with a good choice for my husband who's gluten free. Plenty of valuable parking which is free

Breaking was served by a very pleasant young man. Very helpful. Food was not particularly hot. Evening meal was very good steak cooked perfectly. On paying the bill for our stay and meals this morning we noticed £8.41 added to the bill for service. I had that removed. I am usually happy to tip but do object to my bill having it added.

Room spotless, bed comfy, en-suite recently refurbished, everything modern and great, food excellent, staff lovely, recommended.

Staff were welcoming and the biscuits in the jar was a little gesture to the hungry soul. Breakfast had a reasonable selection and served with the customer in mind

We stayed two nights at The Red Lion. A wonderful authentic old Pub with a lot of atmosphere. The food was delicious and the staff was the friendliest people. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again.
