Don’t come here expecting the Ritz - but we were very grateful to find a room that could accommodate 4 during Brighton Pride at the last minute. Yes carpets are threadbare, yes the furniture is missing handles. But (except during pride weekend) this would be a cost effective and well located spot to sleep in. Beds were comfy. Bathroom was run down but clean. It entirely suited our purposes - imagine a much friendlier and slightly shabbier Fawlty Towers.

The room was reasonably clean, fan was provided due to the heatwave. Staff were friendly and accommodating. I had help to bring my suitcases to the bedroom. The buses were available if you wanted to explore and the beach was only about 10 minutes walk away. Plenty of restaurants and cafes and other places to eat.

The room was very clean but there was no teaspoon for drinks and the shower only did v hot water. 1 plug socket didn't work. Saying that the staff were very friendly and helpful. They let us shower after doing park run and helped us to find parking when we got there. Book your parking in advance £15 for 24 the hours. Close to the sea a 25 min walk to Brighton or buses are a short walk away.

The toilet seat in the bathroom was not fixed on properly the floor of the bathroom was lifting there was no plug in the sink the shower is old fashioned there were dirty marks around the taps and up the walls and the toilet roll holder needed fixing to the wall . The double bed was collapsed on one side so I was higher than my husband and we kept falling together in the middle of the bed worst nights sleep ever burn marks on the dresser where the kettle was a green leather look sofa that had seen better days and none of the windows locked quite frankly we would not stay there again the best bit plenty of fans and nice soap that is all.

Can not recommend this hotel.

Staff were lovely. Room was clean and spacious. Was nice to be able to come and go whenever we pleased. Nice quiet location.

Very nice hotel, good location and lovely staff

The staff were particularly helpful and friendly from arrival to departure, helping us with several requests and questions throughout our stay. Really helpful and polite. It’s located close to the town of Hove and a short walk to the beautiful beach where we sat and enjoyed lunch. It’s an older property so don’t expect pish-button, modern technology. There were no hangers in our empty wardrobe but I’m sure the staff could’ve provided some if we’d asked. Our room was very warm and there’s obviously no air conditioning but a small fan would’ve been most welcome. Tea and coffee was provided in the room so we were grateful for that. No bath mat provided so be careful as you step out of the shower as the floor can be slippery. The rear of the property desperately needs a tidy as it looks unkempt and particularly run down, although we’d asked for a quiet room and appreciated it being located where it was. Overall, a pleasant stay in a nice area with the beach and shops nearby. Try the local butchers shop for snacks and pies, it’s absolutely lovely. It took us about 10 minutes to walk from Hove station to the hotel and not uphill at all, after which friendly, helpful staff took care of us. Thank you to each of them.

Booked a ground floor room as difficulties with stairs. Not available when i arrived. So had to struggle to 1st floor.

You get what you pay for. Albany Hotel is a budget hotel so I didn’t have high expectations. I was happy with my room and the parking which is available at the back. Very helpful staff as well.

My stay at the Albany in Brighton was okay overall, mainly thanks to the very helpful staff. However, the hotel itself is in noticeably poor condition and really needs a full refurbishment. The rooms and common areas feel tired and worn, and the overall standard doesn’t match what you’d expect today. With some investment and updates, it could be a much better experience.

Really pleasant little hotel. Massive room. Was clean & had lots of extras including toiletries. Yes it's dated, & a bit ragged around the edges, but charming none the less & good value. Reception staff were excellent. Really friendly, helpful & full of smiles. Good location for Hove shops & beach - Regular buses go from stops just a few minutes walk way to Brighton town/station/marina etc.

El hotel está muy bien situado a pocos minutos de la playa. La habitación en la que nos alojamos (2 camas) era muy amplia, pero daba a un callejón en la planta baja, por lo que no era conveniente abrir la ventana. Los cristales y los marcos de las ventanas estaban rotos. Los sofás vieron tiempos mejores. Las camas demasiado blandas, necesitan mejores colchones. Lo mejor, el personal que fue muy servicial. Si solo quieres dormir y disfrutar de la playa y la ciudad, está bien, pero si eres un sibarita, no es tu hotel.

Decent hotel and fairly priced.

The bed was clean but extremely uncomfortable, the bathroom was not very clean the curtains had mould. The location is good, it’s very close to the beach, and good restaurants.

Parking was behind the hotel at £15 for 24hrs,rooms need an upgrade,but ok to sleep in,carpets in room 222 were worn,windows need desperate attention due to cracked pane and also sash cord broken,toilet bowl needs lots of lime scale attention and shower was leaking at the shower head,was reported when we checked out.

Musty smell in hall and room. No bed side lamps, no way to turn off the bathroom light, permanently on. Hair in sink plug. Fan broken. Pigeons woke me up on window ledge. Lift broken.
