This was my first experience staying a village hotel, weekend stay. For me, it’s essentially a private gym with a hotel attached, probably in the same sleeping accommodation market as premier inn and pricing bracket. A fee £5.00 payable to use the gym and pool, unless you have upgraded to a club room. Be aware if you like a leisurely evening swim and chill in the jacuzzi the pool closes at 8pm on weekends. Very disappointing , as , had I have known this , i would not have booked the hotel. Location of hotel is good for days out around Berkshire. Weekdays you’ll need an early start to catch breakfast, as it finishes as 9.00am, Weekends 10.30am. Breakfast for me was just “ok” No sign of a piece of fruit or yogurt, granola. There was English breakfast, didn’t look particularly appealing , toast and pastries, served in the sports bar / cafe area. Again , nothing hotel like about it. It’s a typical private gym, food area…David Lloyd type of thing. We had a twin room, very clean and comfortable, powerful shower. Black out blind amazing , you have no idea what time of the morning it is, 0 morning light, but set your alarm, You’ll sleep past breakfast. Be prepared to ask for an extra bath towel/ hand towel as only 1 of each provided per room. Carparking £10.00 for 24hrs. Would I stay again …probably not , but that’s my personal preference. It was outside my expectations of a “hotel with a pool “ stay.

Rooms had very little sound insulation, was woken up multiple times in the night with doors banging, someone in the interconnecting room switched the TV on ridiculously loud at 1am and then was woken in the morning by someone being sick multiple times in the neighbouring room. Won’t stay again..

Hotel was very good and near to the river Thames. Short bus ride to the centre of Reading.

Ideal location

Breakfast needs a re think. 15 mins to get a fried egg is not really acceptable and the choice of items limited. Hot food was not particularly hot.

Still a few things under construction but otherwise can not fault this hotel. Beautiful rooms helpful staff. Didn’t have time to use pool or gym but they did look great

Modern, fresh and the staff were fantastic.

Clean, nicely decorated room. Very comfortable bed, excellent pillows, good quality floor coverings. Could have done with at least one chair. The building work detracts from the offering but at least that’s not permanent. The filtered water tap is a nice addition, as is the coffee pod machine. Only small downsides: too few towels, no sweeteners, only three hangers.

Great hotel! However you should pay for the Carpark in the hotel, not using the parking app as it’s cheaper in the hotel
