What are the differences between the Ordinary Car and the Green Car?

For a more efficient, affordable, and hassle-free journey, choose the Ordinary Car. With no seat reservations required, transferring between trains becomes effortless. However, keep in mind that the Ordinary Car might be more crowded than the Green Car due to the availability of free seating.

Travel comfortably on Ordinary cars with 2+3 or 2+2 seating layouts

But, if you seek added comfort during your train journey, the Green Car is ideal. Identified by the green clover symbol, these cars boast spacious seating and ample legroom for your comfort. Reservations are mandatory and can be made at the JR ticket office after redeeming your JR Pass. While you can travel in both Green and Ordinary Cars with a Green Car pass, the Ordinary Car pass limits you to Ordinary Car travel only.

How do I buy the JR Pass?

Select the JR Pass type you want.

Before completing your purchase, ensure you have inputted your full name according to your passport.

After you complete this purchase, you will receive a Traveloka E-Voucher.

What should I do after purchase?

After your purchase, our partner will promptly reach out to confirm your order from the number on your e-voucher and coordinate the Exchange Order (MCO) pick-up or delivery details with you.

Please provide the following information during this process:

Your full name as stated on your passport (e.g., MR RUDI HARTONO/MS SUSAN HARTONO)

Your departure date

Your preferred method for Exchange Order (MCO) delivery or pick-up

Pick-up and delivery are available from Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, South Tangerang, Bandung, Medan, Surabaya, and Bali.

For pick-up, please coordinate the date and time with our partner beforehand. You can collect it personally, arrange an instant courier, or request our partner to arrange one for an additional fee.

If you opt for delivery, kindly provide your address and cover the delivery fee.

How to use JR Pass in Japan?

Upon receiving your Exchange Order (MCO), keep it safe and bring it to Japan. This Exchange Order (MCO) must be exchanged for the actual JR Pass at the JR Exchange Office within 90 days of booking.

At the JR Exchange Office, present your passport, the Exchange Order (MCO), and complete the form, indicating the date you intend to start using your JR Pass. You have the flexibility to choose any date within 30 days of receiving the JR Pass to commence its usage.
