just a quality all round place to stay. For the price and location I felt like I had my money's worth. The breakfast I thought was a bit expensive at $38 but if that's all I have to complain about then we're doing well! A good go to for a quiet stay in Melbourne.

Michael at reception is amazing, he goes above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. All the staff are lovely. Thank you so much for making our stay perfect.

This was the second time i stayed at Clarion. It aas really great. The staff are great. I am grateful for the assistance from the front desk when i was running late for a show and the woman ordered a taxi for me so i could get there on time. Even with check out the front staff are just lovely.

Breakfast buffet was excellent lots of choice. Evening meal was delicious in fact the best meal awe had in Melbourne. Apartment was spacious with everything we needed

The location was excellent, for walking and for access to public transportation.The 3 bedroom suite had plenty of space for 4 adults. I had one meal in the restaurant, a chicken caeser salad, which was very good. But considering the cost of the stay, I expected the accommodations to be slightly better. There was supposed to be a VIP gift card, but the only perk offered was a free glass of house wine or beer in the bar, so I assume that was it. There was no coffee maker in the unit- just a kettle and instant coffee packets. (Coffee drinkers know this is unaccrptable.) The combination laundry washer/dryer was not ideal - no instructions were provided, and the dryer function ran so hot that the unit door would remain locked until it had cooled down, effectively holding my clothes hostage. On one occasion I tried to order a cocktail at the restaurant (full) bar, but the staff member did not know how to make any cocktails, so she told me my only alcohol options were wine or beer. Additionally, and not the fault of the Clarion, the casino across the river shot huge flames into the sky, every night from 9 to 12, on the hour. It was surprisingly loud and disturbing, once the initial fascination wore off. So, while I would stay in this area again, I would probably book different accomodations.

Staff were very happy to help. Very clean room. Quite a while since I’ve been here to stay. Like that they are suites and you have a microwave and small kitchenette.

We really enjoyed our stay at Clarion Suites Gateway. The hotel was easy to access from the nearest tram station (abt 10min walk). The room was very spacious and clean with most of the amenities we needed in the room (washer-dryer, dishwasher, liquid detergent, dishwashing powder). The pool is in a heated space which made it comfortable for me & my daughter to use despite the cooler weather. A few things to note: - A few things aren't provided which may prove necessary, including: laundry detergent, dishwashing sponge, cutting board. - The wifi is quite spotty, so most of the time we resorted to using our data. - The TV signal seems quite poor, the visual & audio will kinda black out every now and then while watching, regardless of the channel.

Older style building which gives you larger than normal rooms. Great pool and excellent restaurant. Very central location. Clever design of rooms if travelling with a family.

The hotel staff are amazing. Very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely stay again.

Overall very good but a few basic things that could be improved. All of the flat surfaces in the living room had extensive dust on them and you could see they had not been wiped in some time. Room access cards need to be reset. A sauna or gym would be a great addition. For a family holiday it was great value for money.

Great location, friendly professional staff. Neat and tidy rooms. Resturants servea a great steak. A lot to like abaout this motel. I stay here often and find it a pleasant, good value option on the banks of the Yarra.

We stayed 6 nights great location with the choice of 2 tram stopes along flinders street. Try the restaurant at the hotel. It was better than we thought it was going to be. The person who checked us in was a bit rude but that was the only thing that was a let down in 7 days. I didn’t get his name and I understand he may have been busy but first impressions go a long way. Other than that I would stay here again. My sister had a river view and loved it. We were at the back on the hotel it was more quiet.
