overall is nice, the room warm and clean, just we were charged for our choice of bed without knowing before as far as i know in the web site said it choice and maybe we cannot get as we choose but NO mention that if we get that choice will have extra charge

Check in time is unusual, at 3pm. We arrived at 2:45 and the owner literally locked the door in our faces as she was having a chat with someone. He left at 3pm and we joined the queue to check in. We had to write down credit card details on a form. I asked why and was told it was because they have trouble with people accepting extra charges. Not surprised... Advised the heater was on, which was nice as it was about 6 degrees outside and 4C in the morning. There was snow falling in the hills. We could light the fire but it might make the chalet too hot, so we didn't. The wall heater was very noisy overnight though, clicking lots as it heated up and cooled down. The main circuit board is right beside the bed with 3 bright LEDs showing. This was my side of the bed and keeping me awake so I moved into another room. The other room was very cold, and we couldn't use the toilet at night without waking each other as the bathroom door had a terrible squeak and in fact stuck on the jamb when shut properly, swinging open of its own accord unless forced shut. There was some cereal on a shelf with a note that we would be charged if we used it. So we didn't. Two days later our credit card was charged an additional fifty dollar charge. I queried this in writing but did not get any reply from them so went to the Hotels.com chat They got the reply that it was for using two beds! Odd as the booking was for two. Hotels.com covered it with a credit. NOT RECOMMENDED.

I’d read a few poor reviews of the Derwent Bridge Chalets & Accommodation, and they turned out to be totally unfounded. We stayed in a Narcissus Studio and it was very comfortable. I didn’t expect the room to have a microwave and toaster (they weren’t specified) so we were able to make breakfast. Great location for Lake St Clair. Only downside - there was no WiFi. But 4G signal was fine.

Everything was fantastic, 10 out of 10. The Shalet was spotless, it had a lovely wood fire and an electric heater. The rooms were all done in wood panelling, there was kitchen and laundry facilities and the spa bath was a lovely extra touch. Despite the rainy weather, we were very cosy and warm.

A convenient stopover point between east and west coasts.

Cabin was very clean, cosy & comfortable. Everything had been thought of including quality toilet paper!

Individual unit, comfortable and clean. Limited dining options but the hotel down the road has nice food. Close to Lake St Clair.

Our little cabin was cozy and easy to access. The bed was relatively comfortable but theres not a great deal of space to manouvre around it easily. The heater is a godsend on cold nights and heats up the room fairly quickly. It was a relatively simple cabin, but it had everything we needed and we were comfortable.

Convenient location for a overnight stop. Beds were very comfortable.

Excellent self contained unit (clair). Had everything we needed for self catering. Was warm, comfortable and quiet. Bed was great and location was perfect for exploring nearby national park. Only downside was no free wifi. Would definitely recommend.

We loved staying here for the night. The spa was so relaxing after a few hiking stops on the way. Bed super comfy and all the creature comforts of home.

The chalet was basic but clean. The location was perfect for us and easy walking distance to the local pub for dinner. Glad it was for one night only.
